It has been very dry here, then with all the water being sucked up into the tree, and the saturated ground it just toppled. Sadly it took a nice small dogwood with it.
Probably just the first of this kind of downed tree around here. It was pretty cool to watch, and yes, it made a sound

Had someone call, and pretend to be a Marion County deputy sheriff. I was in the middle lane on 200 when this imposter called, and caught me off guard. He gave a false name, and started asking me if I still live at a certain address. Asked him why? He was investigating animal cruelty in my neighborhood . Long story short is I researched the phone number was from a business in Ocala where I live. The business is, " Wayne's Premier, L.L.C. "

SM is a retired deputy sheriff, and he told me they would have all my information, and anyone else in my household. The imposter did not call anyone else in my family.

Disappointed in myself and a bit pissed!:baldy Didn't give him correct information. Just disappointed that I wasn't quick enough.

That is exactly why I never answer my phone. Had plenty of training from selling stuff on Craigslist. :rofl I look at the number when the phone rings, and if it doesn't show a person I know by name with the caller ID or my address book, I leave it and as soon as they hang up, I run their number through Google and see what I can find. It sucks that there are people that have nothing better to do.

It is sad when your blocked number list is 10 times your contact list..... Usually my phone will say 'scam likely' and I ignore the call.
On one occasion I picked up and it was "Jennifer" from the "warranty department" , so I played along and told her my 1983 Buick LeSabre has 600K miles on it and if it qualified for a new engine. Never heard a peep since after she hung up on me. :imaposerI don't even own a car and haven't for 3 years...:D

One major thing to remember is never ever say yes when they ask, are you so and so? You could be on the hook for whatever......YMMV

Beaches are free to access, but require spending money to upkeep/monitor. Capitalism 101 :thumb

You won't find me on either a beach or in Rat-land as I can't stand crowds, the smell of sunscreen and sweaty people, screaming kids, crowds etc......:lol3
Yes I said crowds twice :1drink

Sadly yes, but Weston isn’t a bad place to be stuck in compared to the rest. We’re still planning to get out of here but this whole COVID crap threw a curve ball and moving a business isn’t cheap either...:deal

Cost of living in Weston/SoFla makes the move a no brainer. Just gotta take that first step!

What areas are you considering a move to?

Yes cost of living is pretty high here, we know.....:puke1
Jacksonville area and areas west of there are pretty high on the list. We need reasonable access to an international airport for our goods from Europe among other things.

Finally pulling the trigger on a place in Live Oak can’t cope with Orlando much longer. I don’t know how you’ve lasted as long as you have in South Florida Oscar.
I hear you need to be near an international airport but it gets much cheaper and nicer west of ONF. Were we are is 101 miles from JAX.

I was in the Keys for most of my time down here, so I was fine up to about 3 years ago when I quit the fishing business...
Where we are isn't as bad as it could be, but it isn't ideal either. We do have the luxury to jump onto US 27 with 1/2 mile from the warehouse, where the bikes are, so at least we have very little traffic to deal with in that respect. It's the people down here who are able to suck the life out of a rock....
