Taking the road bikes out on a holiday weekend? Surely you jest. =p
Dirt's the word on a heavily traveled day like that.
Besides, I'm lazy and am waiting for the tag to move closer to Oil City

If you haven't been here before I highly reccomend you take the short walk along the creek. The trail starts where the mound of dirt is and the orange ribbons are in the second picture. Bike has not moved.

I thought maybe it would be cooler on the ride here.
    It wasn't.

6-8 miles of hard packed gravel to get there....if that matters.

I know this is a repeat - just could not resist. TerrafirmaRespite and I were cruising through Punxsutawney this morning and we had to do something to honor Phil. Rt 119 just south of town.

    Grabbed.

Just got in from Erie after more gravel than I or the Griso -- a poor mudder -- wanted today. My TomTom thinks gravel IS paved. :fpalm

Dropped "it" -- NOT the Griso, tho that was a near thing more than once on Frozen Toe Road and some similar ones in that area:p3rry! -- but will post pix of new location, c.200 miles SE :D, with clue(s) tomorrow.

Awesome! The UPS guy just dropped a fresh set of 606's on my porch yesterday and they'll need a nice break in :clap

Great. But not sure you'll need those to grab this tag ... unless you are foolish enough to take the route I did from Erie! :fpalm

So, as stated, I rode back home from Erie yesterday following my f-i-l’s 99th birthday party on Saturday. But you don't care about that. :D

So, where did I drop it?

First, a bit about where I intended to drop ... but didn’t. :augie

I wanted to find one of the abandoned Pennsylvania Turnpike tunnels.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abandoned_Pennsylvania_Turnpike

Unfortunately, I only found Oregon Road and four more miles of gravel — much better than Frozen Toe Road and environs yesterday with its softball-sized river rocks! — and the occasional view through the trees to my right of the old 'pike alignment.

I was in a hurry to get home (never a good thing on two wheels except at the track), so decided not to think of something else in my fewer-ever-minute miles left in Pennsylvania. The rest stop on I-70 seemed a bit lame, so I defaulted to one of my occasional stops when I take Flickerville Road (SR 643) from Warfordsburg north.

So, here (finally!) is the drop:

Same place, different Guzzi; June 2020.

Ditto. Yard sale? Since burned, too, BTW.

    Background and location info? Sure.

    And, if terminally bored …

… and, if housebound, my route:

    Oh, wait, there’s more!

Frozen Toe Road , etc. 11.5 unpaved miles with some occasionally large nasty gravel, at least for an inept rider on a street bike. Likely child's play for many here, but it scared me feceless. :p3rry

Enough. Hoping this won’t get me ignored, banned, or worse for TLDR, but think I followed this tag's rules.

I'm glad you made it over Frozen Toe without mishap! We're only a couple of miles south of Leeper and that road is kind of our go-to for testing new knobbies on the dual sports. If you swing this way again on a weekend there's a new microbrew pub on 66 a couple miles south of Lucinda. Lost in the Wilds. Beer is pretty good and they do growlers

Did you stop at Kissell Motorsports? They’re a Guzzi dealer now.

Yes. Thanks. Saw that on wildguzzi and put them into my route plan.

Then, at one point while refueling at Brookville, i.e., after recovering my wits after the Frozen Toe adventure -- details withheld to protect my ignorance -- I actually called them to see about a possible tow!

Talked with Brian. Great guy. Happily did not need to do that. But did stop in on my way home.

Also met a friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful young woman; did not catch her name. There were two Guzzis uncrated: a V85 in centennial livery and a black V7 with the newer 850 engine. Got the impression that, not surprisingly, they were not quite ready to service Guzzis. Not an issue as most Guzzisti are too cheap to go to dealers anyway. :D
