Can't fault you for staying put. We got the leading edge Tuesday night while out tenting in Greenwood Furnace park. Still wringing out the riding gear

    Done. Dropped.

Yesterday’s layover was an expensive luxury. Kathi drove home, so I played to my strength and did absolutely nothing all day. :D

Today’s ride home was (mostly) dry. Dark clouds had me worried much of the c.300 miles, but gloved visor swipes along the way took care of the occasional showers.

    Anyway, here’s the drop:

Location is, obviously, a gimme, but I searched and, if it’s been used before, I couldn’t find it. The ADV search function purports to let one limit a search to a given thread, but that never works for me.

A word to the wise or, at least the wary.

If you come in from the north on SR 1034 (Glenwhite Road/Veterans Memorial Highway), be VERY careful as you descend on that road along Glenwhite Run. There is a significant gravel wash across the road that will surprise you and fuse your sphincter even if you don’t crash.

And, as long as I am whining about roads, SR 36 from Mahaffey to vic. Westover had “chip seal” on it in the SB lane only. PennDOT crews were busy laying down more. It was basically pea gravel on slurry, so I was grateful for the 30” or so clear lane on the shoulder. Nasty. :dirtdog

When I got home, I got in another ride ... in ATGATT, of course. :clap

Apologies for the not so photogenic shot, the place was packed. Lots of tourist traffic today

Just a short hop to drop the tag at the Coolspring power museum. Sadly not open today.
(edit) I was wrong! They are open!

Ok, we're home now and I can upload some proper pictures of the museum without having to deal with janky cell service. The power museum is just off of Rt 36, and even has one of those little blue signs so it's super easy to find. There are half a dozen or so barn to half-barn sized buildings out back just jam-packed with old hit-and-miss engines. An exhibition day is the best time to go since quite a few are actually functional and the owners love to bend your ear about the history.

(This is one of my favorites, can you tell? :clap)

    This is embarrassing.

I flatter myself to think I am a "noticer." Yet, I have been on SR 36 50 or more times in the last few years. Not once have I seen a sign or any other mention of the place. In my defense, -- paltry as it is -- I am usually riding way too fast in that stretch and more concerned about blue lights than blue signs. :D Anyway, appreciate the kick in the gluteus maximus. I look forward to stopping in.

On a tangentially related note, there is something I have noticed and wondered about a few miles north of Mahaffey en route to Punxsutawney.

Off the road a bit to the right is a row, under a roof, of what appears to be wheelbarrows! :hmmmmm

I am not certain, but believe it to be in this area: https://tinyurl.com/SR-36-Wheelbarrows

Anyone know the story? I keep telling myself that I will stop "next time."

No worries. I asked the Mr. if he'd seen the wheelbarrows and he'd not seen them. He also never saw the signs for the museum (and he's gone past it to go fishing), so you're in good company.

Maybe I only see the signs because I'd been to the museum before? Kinda like you never see a specific model of bike until you buy one and then they're everywhere.

About a 120 mile ride down here. Will drop in a few hours on my way back home. Beautiful day to ride.

    Update:

I am stranded in Quakertown. I got lunch at Wawa and there were acouple other bikes there. Spent some time eating and talking, was distracted and started my bike with the proximity key ontop of my pannier. Fell off somewhere. Will post a drop with my bike on the back of a tow truck :lol2

    Can't win em' all. Lol.
