Well asked that man, saves me being just as lazy and not reading the thread lol
Got mine a couple days ago, works like a charm. Took it on some rough gravel and the phone stayed right where it should.
Just order one really like the locking feature. I had to rubber band my phone in the X grip to get in to stay in. Guess I'll put the X in the truck if phone comes out at least in will be in the floor. Nice looking design I hope you do well. Thanks!
Got mine yesterday. Its so solid i wouldnt be surprised i could drive my truck over it and it would be fine. They are not cheap. But you get what you pay for. I am done buying cheap when it comes to offroad motorcycling. You just pay the price later.
Pretty sure I know the answer but just for fun... tether required with this mount?
It was designed not to need a tether. You could run one for extra peace of mind, but I don't. And in all the testing we've done, no one has had a phone come loose. Not saying it could never happen, but if it does, it's most likely because you forgot to tighten the thing or because you had a good crash.
I tethered mine on the first ride with the Perfect Squeeze. When we stopped for lunch it was obvious the tether wasn't needed and I removed it from my phone.
One thing I have changed was the screw for the low profile mount. I wasn't thrilled with the phillips head screw so I replaced it with a SS cap head.
I agree I like the SHCS better. However, they are hard to source in versions that have threads the whole way. The Low Profile clamps are designed so you can flip them around to clamp on smaller diameters (like a crossbar) and when you do that you need more thread than most socket head screws of that length will provide.
That is what I figured. I just have an aversion to phillips and am unlikely to use the mount on a crossbar.
With the proto-type I was able to use the mount on that KTM 9X0 dash mount bracket.
Which is my plan for the future.
For those with a critical eye, you will note this is a 950 mount on a 990 dash. Yes the bumper has no chance of ever touching the dash and it is off center.
Pure torture for the OCD among us.
I can make it work for me.
Hope mine ships soon, getting antsy.
Shipping status says mine will show up today.
I was wondering Mr Hondo - do you send a shipped notice when sending out? I ordered on the third and have not received a package or email other than the PP receipt.
Yes they do, I just got an email that mine shipped today.
We do, you'll get an email with a link to tracking info. As noted in the web store though, we're running about a 2 week lead time for all Perfect Squeeze orders. I'll have to check with Adrienne, but I'm pretty sure we're now shipping a bit sooner than that as of today. But if you ordered on the 3rd, it probably hasn't gone out yet. In another week or so we'll be all caught up and will have them ready to ship within 1-2 days.
Another tester here ... absolute great item. Highly recommended.
Here are some shots of bike fitments I tested.
BMW R1200GSA w/Rox Risers, perfect squeeze mounted between top clamps
KTM 950SER with BRP top tripple and Scotts sub mount, perfect squeeze mounted to cross bar
KTM 525exc with BRP top tripple and Scotts sub mount, perfect squeeze mounted between top clamps
Came home from a long 12 hr shift and found it at front door. Very, very nice! Rock solid!
Mine showed up last night.
Any update on the "Bar-Tab" mount? or was I the only person who showed any interest..
I have a prototyped version being tested. As soon as we're ahead of existing orders (sometime next week) I'll get a batch machined and and up in the store. A few others showed interest, and I want one, so they're definitely getting made. I'll post here as soon as they're available.
