PUCKY HUDDLE BREAKFAST RUN – Sept 20th & 21th 2014
Thanks for all the hard work you put into these! Excellent..
Am I the only one having problems with the short tracks? will not open in mapsource. Says it is not a valid Mapsource file. the big one opens but is to big for my gps.
hell, my gpx file wont open, wtf! phuking computer...
Both of them opened fine for me using Mapsource.
If there are too many tracks----you could delete ones you know you won't use----I deleted several that I knew I wouldn't use.
Also---------mapsource will reduce the number of track points in a track to whatever you want using the track filter in the track properties dialogue.
I actually made a route out of the whole thing------and don't even need the tracks---but I loaded them anyway.
Thanks Sieg! Tracks loaded and I think I'm going to ride part of "Day 2" tomorrow after work. Hope to see some of y'all along the trail Saturday.
I will give this a try and see if it works. Thanks BD!
Is this the same map you took last weekend? Looks very different, and with only 11 views I'm thinking this has been updated to a pg version. Does anyone have an original they can share? Trying to head that way tomorrow with 3 bikes, any info is hugely appreciated.
The file isn't a map at all $hane-----------it's a track log.
This is the original file and it does not need updated.
It is the route we used.
I've been working with these kind of files for a very long time --------never heard "pg" version before.
I'm guessing you don't have the proper software (and maybe gps) to open the file properly and use it.
No we can view the routes that was my bad choice of terminology.
The route doesn't look like your video route is our dilemma. It's more of a highway loops start to finish.
The actual route we rode on the pre-ride went to places not on the official ride (the video).
And......we rode things on the actual ride that we didn't on the pre-ride.
Ok mystery solved lol thank you. seig has been kind enough to point us to the poker run there over the weekend.
What is the best file to download to a Garmin 376C? A GDB file or GPX file?
IDK. Done it both with good results, on a Zuno and Oregon. I know a Zumo likes routes better than tracks. Some of those track files may be too big for a 376. You can convert from a track to a route and filter too a smaller file via BaceCamp, BTW.
Either works RJ. The files upload the same. I don't think you will have issues with track points either.
Thanks Sieg for all your planning and preparations!
Here's a kml of your file if people would like to visualize in Google Earth:
I know someone looking to share a room, I'll tell him.
