Bringing any motorbike into the Philippines will mean you have to pay import duty .... This is not what - You think the bike is worth - You can prove the bike is worth i.e. similar bikes advertised But - On what Bureau of Customs decides the bike is worth. And when you leave the country this is not refunded !!! Please visit / hire a bike in the Ph - but do not import your own.
can someone please direct me to a website for used/new motorcycle sales. looking for a d.s. bike in Metro Manila or nearby provinces. thanks.
thank you for this info, we won't be riding the philipines then, just looking at possible routes for a RTW.
+1 I bought my bike off this website, excellent experience. Easy to search, filter and mostly serious sellers. Facebook Marketplace is ok also but I find most ads lacking details/good photos and many sellers are flaky/unknowledgeable.
Talking about new motorbikes....does anybody know if the new Yamaha 700 Tenere is going to be available in the Philippines? Cheers David
Thanks for the reply. I'm interested in buying a CRF250 Rally or a CRF250L, maybe a Yamaha TT250, used or new when I get there this coming January. If you see something that's a good deal, please let me know.
Joel, If you are living in Luzon - get a 400+ else you can not use the expressways. I do not think there are such things in Cebu/South .... but on Luzon - this makes a huge difference in doing 200 kms quickly - oh my wife complains at the cost ... Err $4 from Manila to Clark in toll fees. Instead of the stop-start-brake-clutch workout you get when riding on here. Just my 2p/2c/0.02Eu Tim
hello Gary. hahaha...the world just getting smaller. i have no schedule but have to be in Manila by mid-February for a h.s. class reunion. if i decided to go south, i want that beer. let's stay in touch via pm thanks hello Tim. thanks for the advice. i enjoy taking the back roads and off beaten path, so it has to be an enduro or dual-sport bike with at least a 19" front. i haven't seen a mid-sized thumper at that displacement unless Honda start selling the CFR450L there in the P.I. hopefully, i could find a big thumper in the used bike market.
I'll help you find a bike before you arrive here @NSFW. I will PM you the details once I see one. Not promising anything as my plate is full but I will keep this mind. Honda ADV rally 250 cost about 249k brandnew without panniers.
This is his profile in FB. You can look him up as it looks like he is no longer active on this site. He has CRF 250s for rent.
thanks raj for the offer to help. here's a 690e that i will be interested too. i used to own different KTMs, and now switched to a Husqvarna 701. so, i'm familiar with the KTM brand and its known issues. https://www.carousell.ph/p/ktm-endu...r_category_id=2101&t-referrer_sort_by=popular
raj. i'm here in Makati until i find a bike for the next 3 days. prefer a Honda CRF 250L or Rally. if you know anyone or leads, please let me know by Private Message. thanks.
Send a PM via FB to Rgon he might be able to hook you up. I will send him a PM as well. I called him but no answer. Sent him an SMS to check this thread and coordinate with you.
As far as Iknow it isn't, which is a pity. Maybe it'll be launched here when it comes to the US later this year, who knows...
hi raj, thank you for the promotion. my two bikes, xr200, are under going prev maint. the crf will not be available.i'll be using it on our upcoming trip down south. btw, there is a bike rental shop in angeles, pampanga, far though. they have different models to choose from. anyways, as i see it, the best option is to buy a brand new or low milage crf. a crf20L with about 10k mileage costs around php150-160. pero, d best is brand new pa rin.. chirzzz!
