I met up with CrashDBad in Cave Creek this morning to ride up to Prescott to meet up with some other ADVRider FF's. 950's at Cave Creek Coffee Company. Misery Goat dropped by to say HI too. We found this on Seven Springs Road. That must have been some night! Ouch!! ADVRider was here!
Near the I-17 end of Bloody Basin, we met up with the Frenchman. He would lead us up to Prescott. He knows all the good spots. 90 degree high in Phoenix today. Knee deep SNOW at 7200'!
Then we hit Prescott and met the other ADV FF's heading for Flagstaff. KTMSER - he know's how to get his money's worth out of a rear tire! I didn't get to meet the owner of this, but she's an ADVRider.
DOD and I decided to head back to Phoenix from Prescott, via Bloody Basin and Seven Springs. It's so awesome I could ride it twice in the same day. Well, there was this one thing...I talked DOD into taking the Hero option... That didn't go so well. It was getting late and it was plenty hot, so we aborted the attempt and we will return to complete the Hero loop another day. Here's a google earth map of the Hero loop. Bloody Basin runs across the top, Seven Springs runs down the right, and the Hero loop is the white squiggly line.
Nice, TZ. Those bald tires are scary- especially considering the rpms that Spence and Rick like to run. Spyder is owned/ridden by Kural, CrozB's better half. Pretty impressive machine. I spent all day wrenching, wiring, and modding for Death Valley. Wish I could have joined you.
It's very unusual for me to not have more pictures, especially on a 270 mile day, but we were just hammer down all day long!! Here is one more of DOD coming down the hill on the hero loop after we got his bike turned around.
Oh, one more thing... My bike fell over while we turning DOD's bike around and bent the rear brake disk!! Doh! Glad I wasn't on it when it happened.
Now I feel bad. I crash and your bike gets damaged. Doesn't seem fair. Next time you crash, I'll bend something on my bike. -dod
I've got many more challenging & fun little runs through that moutain to show you ........ bring crash with you . fredo!
The nice thing about a 908RR, is that when it get's this bad, you HAVE to lay it over to get to to hook up on the dirt. Bummer!
