I believe it should work if you're using Firefox on your Samsung. It won't work on Google Chrome on an Android phone.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that the extension is no longer on the Chrome web store. Google took it down, and won't give me a straight answer as to why.

Regardless, the extension is now irrelevant, because Photobucket has made their images visible again, and we performed a permanent fix here on ADVrider to ensure that Photobucket won't be able to hide them in the future. Feel free to remove it from your browser.

Thanks to everyone who used it -- it was nice to be able to help out a community that's helped me out so much. Cheers!

Looks like photobucket is up to it again. I hope the fix keeps working. I just received this in my email:

"Photobucket currently hosts over 130 million photos for over 11 million free users! Effective June 1, 2019, new hosting limits will take effect that will impact a small portion of our image hosters.

    What Are the New Limits?
Free hosters will be restricted to 25MB of hosting bandwidth per month. YOUR CURRENT USAGE IS OVER 25MB PER MONTH SO THIS NEW LIMITATION WILL AFFECT YOU.

What Happens If I Go Over My Bandwidth Allowance?
Free hosters, like you, who use more than 25MB of bandwidth will have all of their hosted photos watermarked and blurred."

25mb a month? So basically one person looks at <10 and your allowance is shot. They clearly don't want ANY free users anymore. They're still going to be pushing some bytes out, just with additional CPU processing to alter it.

Crap, I hadn't seen that. I wish I could keep this extension alive, but Google won't give me a straight answer as to why they took it down. I'd download all your PB photos, and I'll try and figure out an automated tool to rehost them.

But, all the PB photos here on ADVrider have already been rehosted, so nothing on this site should go away.

Just started seeing photobucket pictures this morning that looked like this. Wonder if PB found a way to defeat the patch.

Nope. They’ve backed off from blocking all your photos unless you pay them $400/yr. now they give you an absurdly low free limit (20 Mb/month or something like that) and are charging somewhere around $10 per month for their lowest service tier. Much better but still too high IMO.

Wonder why I am getting those messed up photo views. Maybe they where over the free limit.

Yes, that's what they now do to "encourage" you to sign up. I'm perfectly ok with paying for a service on-line, especially when I'm entrusting someone with my valuable data (years' worth of photos.) However, Photobucket is still too expensive and since their initial, truly outrageous, attempt to extort me, I've moved on. I won't trust them again.
