Didn't anyone go for a ride a week ago when it was in the 60s? I went skiing and thought what a nice day for a ride.

Didn’t want to rip up the neighbors back yard to get the bike out. Sometime I really hate living in a town house

Ridge Road is a good ride. I think I actually had a flat rear tire in this pic. I really noticed it in Mt. Holly. Rode it the whole way home...[IMG]

Didn’t see any other bikes today in Michaux. It was 41 when I pulled into the garage.

The iron furnace where Furnace Hollow Road enters Michaux is looking rough. Gorgeous day for a ride.

this virus mess is putting a cramp in my trip plans to come up and see you this spring Denny. Now I am working on keeping 6000 people on line so they can work from home :(

I am getting the itch to ride. I may start up next week. My ski season came to an abrupt end this year. My brother is coming home from the Keys on Friday because the state is shutting down the bridge for south bound. It doesn't sound like Florida is any different than Pennsylvania right now.

@Natche60 and I spent 3+ hours riding in Michaux today. I actually remembered to snap a pic.

LOTS of activity in the forest today. We saw a couple of other riders, lots of mountain bikers and people walking the roads, often with their dogs. We also passed several Amish buggies out joy-riding on the forest roads. It was a gorgeous day to ride. Er, I mean to "engage in outdoor activities while observing proper social distancing."

Passed 2 Forest Ranger vehicles, and neither time did the Ranger bat an eye at us.

It was in the upper 60’s this afternoon. Perfect riding weather. No dust.

Nice looking Sherco. Do you have access to any local single track or do you need to trailer to get to offroad?

I have some short single track, but mostly need to haul it to the good stuff. I really wish the state would allow motorcycles on the ATV trails in Michaux.

I still don't understand this? How is a motorcycle any worse safety or environmentally than an ATV - if they allow one they should allow the other in my opinion!

Once an agency makes a decision, inertia takes over. I do work with multiple state agencies, and all of them have the same issues. It requires no extra work to leave things as they are.

The big reason typically given is erosion. A motorcycle has a much greater potential to leave a rutted trail than an atv. As rocky as Michaux atv trails are I personally don't think this would be a big problem. I wish they would open the trails to bikes so I could justify buying something like Paebr332's Sherco.

I've think a lot has to do with hunting, and hunting in PA will always win over off highway motorcycles.
Hunter's can haul deer from deeper in the woods with an ATV.

The ATV trails are closed during hunting season.
