Jrproper, Yardstick and I met to do some riding in the unseasonalby cool, wet north Phoenix riding area known as Wildcat.

I blew a fork seal on the last ride, so I took the opportunity to get the forks revalved and resprung at Palo Verde Suspension. I also fitted a set of 2006 triple clamps that I bought off ebay some time ago. I finally got to really enjoy riding my 450x over some technical terrain!

It was raining for hours last night and continued right up until the time we unloaded our bikes.

No messing around, we followed Yardstick out onto the trails.

    Awesome trails!

The ground was SO sticky, it was hard keeping the bike upright.

    It's a nasty rocky hill.

We need to get down to that wash.

This hill is more of a down than an up.

The rain started after this and the camera was put away, but we had a great ride back to the trucks with jrproper leading the way.

Nice RR Terry, But.....when I clicked on Palo Verde Suspension's website, my AVG caught a Virus. I need my MXC's forks redone, but that's not a good sign. :cob

My AVG does that too. I wouldn't sweat it. Give Richard a call at 623-463-3488. His shop is located real close to the I-17 and 101.

By the way, I LOVE my new forks!!! It was a real challenge keeping the front end planted with the factory suspenders, even with the compression set to zero. He replaced the factory 45 springs with a set of 50's, and the valving is so plush, it's amazing!! I can't believe I waited a year to get this done. Now I'm ready to start riding the hard stuff.

I also put on a set of 2006 CRF 450x triple clamps on. They have a larger offset than the 2008's, which slowed the steering down. The bike was real twitchy, quite a handful in the sand washes, it's awesome now, no damper needed!

I had to modify the 2006 steering stops a bit to fit:

Here's what the 2008 set looks like.

    Put back together.

    Ready to roll!

WHoa! It looks like you took the fork stops clean off? Finishline flying crossups will look way cool now! :eek1 I'll give him a call, thanks.

It was looking kind of iffy on the drive up with the rain, but it subsided and turned out to be an awesome day for a ride… especially being for the end of July… low 80’s, can’t complain about that.
