If you haven't read any of my other Wildcat reports, you should know that I LOVE THE WILDCAT! Monday rides are awesome! There was nobody but us there. Today's riders include : Gary - KTM 300 - Trail Boss Steve - KTM 250 Ryan - KTM 525 Nightstalker - Honda 450x Gary knows the area real well and showed us some of the hardest trails, and hills. He rolled down this hill, fortunately, his bike didn't follow. 2nd attempt was no problem.
Next up was this hill, Mad Crasher Hill. Gary on the final approach. Ryan's turn. At the top. Steve up next. And he's up. The prize at the top.
If you thought the UP pictures were impressive, check out the DOWN!! Steve behind me. Catching up to Ryan. Steve playing it safe. One more drop to the bottom. Oh yeah, he's down! I should add that I had the most spectacular crash at the bottom of this hill. I rode down the face of the rock to the right of Steve on the above picture and jumped off at the bottom. A few feet after that, the front end wiped out and I skidded down the trail on my head. Of course, there's no record of it happening.
Then Gary took us up the backside of V@gina hill. It was a real shithole of a trail! Steve in the rocks. Steve taking a closer look at the rocks. Steve is unstoppable!
Then there was this section... Ryan charging up the hill. And he crests the top. Steve up next. The view from the top during a much needed break.
Time to go down...Tight and steep! Ryan wriggles through the pinch point. Not too promising looking ahead. It only got worse. Ryan mmade short work of it. Steve follows. Welcoming Steve to the bottom of that hill.
That completed the first 10 miles of the day. The second half was fast flowy single track. Not much for pictures except this one. 20 mile day, we were bushed! Lots of ups and downs.
Finally got the video working. It is well worth the wait. Came out AWESOME!! <iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="640" height="360" src="https://api.smugmug.com/services/embed/1554232220_dc45gv8?width=640&height=360"></iframe>
That's fantastic video, NS! I think you may have missed your calling. You should be the Warren Miller of dirt bikes. Just point your camera at FF's and tell them they may be in a movie if they go down a hill, jump a cliff, etc. Hope your leg is feeling better.
I wish I had your GPS skills along with your Video production capabilities! The nice thing about doing stills, they are always of somebody elses screw ups. Video gives you editing control....Super job!
