12 riders came out to enjoy an easy dual sport ride and have an opportunity to find out how our Arizona OHV sticker money gets spent. Here's my best recollection of those present: JayHawk DR 650 Michhub KTM 990 Kevinsterner Honda 250L AzTinBender Yamaha XT350 AZstateParksOHV Kawasaki KLR650 IBRiding nwemerys PoDawg azgary Suzuki DR 350 Viper05 Triumph Trophy Trail Todd BMW 1200 GS We met at McDonalds and headed to our first trail stop, Sears Kay ruins near Carefree. Jeff during the Trail Talk.
Stop at the historic 51 Ranch to recollect all the riders. The Wild West in the background. I think there's a UFO in this shot.
The climb up Hutch Mesa. Looking back into the Bloody Basin valley. Michhub on his KTM 990. I do occasionally stop to enjoy the scenery.
Last turn to the top. Mr. and Mrs. AzTinBender Jeff @ AZStateParks on a switchback below. And at the top.
We met up with Todd on his 1200 GS about 6 miles from the interstate. I'm hoping he'll find his way into the ADVRider community at our urging. Last pictures of the day. Our group split at Cordes Junction. About half the group returned to Phoenix and the other half headed to Mayer for tasty treats.
Nice looking ride. I've always wondered about that 51 ranch. Any info you can share about it? Did you know that the ranch on bloody basin at the agua fria river was recently purchased by game and fish?
Nice RR Terry, as usual! Me and BHO came across Scot on the BMW also, he was ready to ride with everyone.
Good stuff! It's amazing all the things we pass by without a second look out there. We'll have to start bringing hiking shoes along on these rides! I'm surprised you didn't take the detour to Humboldt Mountain to overlook Horseshoe Dam and Reservoir. Then again, that's a BIG group to turn around up there.
