I've been neglecting 450 the last couple of weeks with big bike rides, so I assembled the "A-Team" to explore some Google Earth roads that may or may not exist in real life.

    Yardstick - Supertanker KTM 450
    Aprilia - Honda 450X
    Desertrider2007 - Suzuki DRZ400
    goner - Yamaha WR450
    Nightstalker - Honda 450X

Converged on Table Mesa road, north of Phoenix. I had been on about 90% of today's route about a year ago on my 950. I was anxious to see how this winter's storms affected the trails.

We ran into this bloke on a MotoGuzzi who asked how bad the road was. By the end of our discussion, he was turning around, which is a shame, he would have made some good pictures.

It wasn't far until we found running water and a massive rock garden.

Got to the first Easter Egg. You can clearly see the road, right...

Hey Yardstick, feel like giving this a try??

To my suprise, there was really a road there. It was a little rocky though. Aprilia makes it farther up the hill than I did.

    Turning around.

goner gets creative with his line choice.

Yardstick gets king of the hill honors though.

Dude, really, even if you make it, we're not following you...

I talk him into turning around and we head off in search of the next Easter Egg.

Now for the next Easter Egg. It's only 8/10's of a mile to connect Cook's Ranch with Mescal Tank and then we're sailing past "The Island". At least, that's the plan.

So happy to see what appears to be a road!

    Breathtaking scenery.

I bet there's a road somewhere under those rocks.

The trail was SO ROCKY and SO STEEP!

I couldn't continue on bike, so I hoofed it up on foot to verify the road goes all the way to the top. It does!

Defeated again, we retreated to Table Mesa Road and continued east to the next Easter Egg, Grey's Gulch Mine.

    Some interesting obsticals.

End of the line. This is pretty much a deal breaker.

The rest of the gang a few turns back, enjoying the show.

Remember this from the way in. It wasn't any better heading out.

Yep, definitely no way I would've made it through some parts of this...I need me some real good knobbies and a bit more practice and experience before I'll be able to keep up with the big boys :lol3 Someday! Looks like it was a killer ride though, and great pics!

Another great RR NS. Planning on a solo east to west crossing from Cave Creek rd, on Table Mesa tomorrow. Anything technically not doable?
