PHX - Lynx Lake, Prescott

Five hearty adventurers joined me in Prescott yesterday in an attempt to beat the valley heat. Unfortunately, it was still plenty hot! Rattlecan shot me some tracklogs that we were going to ride last week, but torrential downpours kept us local. HoosierTrailmaster came all the way up from Tuscan to join us.

We met up at Costco on Walker Road in Prescott.



It wasn't far until we were on the trail.



Suprisingly, we didn't see too many of these. The last one was a doosy!

This trail was super fun!

We were waiting at this split for Yardstick. After a few minutes, we went back looking for him.

Where's Yardstick? There he is!



He had a flat, but no axle tool. Mine didn't fit so we rode up the trail to meet with the rest of the group.

Let the tube replacement begin! He was running a patched tube, and the patch failed.





He put his spare tube in.



After 10 minutes of hand pumping, we determined his spare tube had a hole in it. Jaybiker donated a heavy duty tube.

Time to hit the trail!

It seemed like we were going up hill all day.

HoosierTrailmaster had a bad crash, really knocked him for a loop.



We worked our way back to the road.

I'm sore all over. This was a day of 2 halves for me. First half was great. Second half, although the trails were nice, I was so beat to hell that I just couldn't concentrate.

Still, like I said at the parking lot when all was said and done:
"This is the last time I go on ride like this...until the next one."

Unfortunately I thought I was taking video with my helmet cam all day. I was behind HoosierTrailmaster and thought I was getting good footage of the carnage. What I was really doing was taking snapshots. 417 shots for the day. Most of which are worthless.

It was much easier getting in in than out.

Back at the road, HoosierTrailmaster headed for the trucks and we continued on some SWEET single track.

We ran into some other bikers at a log crossing.
