I've been dying to get back to Horseshoe Dam since I heard they were releasing water. I got a call from one of my dirt bike buddies about going up there and after a little negotiation about the direction, I was in!

We rode out of Phoenix up to New River. Caught some trails running parallel to I-17 and headed north. Crossed I-17 a couple of time, it was bad ass!!

Took Maggie Mine road up to Bumble Bee and then off to Cordes Junction for food and fuel.

    East on Bloody Basin Road.

You can cross the Verde River here, but it's pretty deep. This truck is one of it's victim's.

So this fella was telling us that he crossed the Verde below Horseshoe Dam, and even though the water came up to the doors of his Toyota pickup, no water came in the cab.

Next up, Deadman's Creek, the hardest river crossing of the day.

It was a little rocky, here and there.

I know that those of you who've ridden with me will find this hard to believe, but the Nightstalker did crash on this day and got an owie.

Nice ride, I did this a while ago and really enjoyed it.

The corners are a little tricky.

The exit looks worse than it really is.

Thanks Terry, that ride yesterday was a blast, little bit of everything. How's the "owie" today?

Nice! "Dead Man's Creek" or whatever that crossing is took out six of my rear spokes, which are still on backorder from Germany. :baldy

"Big bike friendly, back by noon"

I thought that you could get any BMW part, anywhere in the world, in one day?? Or is that just printed on the brochure?

Dude, you da man for wrestling that GS through there!! It was way worse this time than the last time I was through there with Dirtydog.
