Yardstick recruited me to join him in a ride to search for some single track trail off Log Corral Road in the Sycamore Creek area.

We started on some not so easy jeep roads.

It wasn't long after that shot that I crashed and landed on a cactus. Yardstick was kind enough to pull most of the cactus out of me with his channel locks.

The single track was hidden well, but we found it. The start wasn't very promising.

First climb complete, many more to go.

The trail meandered through a recent burn area.

We were having quite a good time.

We hit Log Corral road and headed for Bartlett Lake.

We checked out a side trail here and there and sometimes found something interesting.

Yardstick took a branch right between his helmet and goggles!

Getting my shoes wet and enjoying my newly serviced forks from Moto Lab!

We started back on FS393 towards the Beeline Highway.

This is a service road for the power lines.

One last look at Bartlett Lake before moving on.

    FS 393 is very scenic.

    Yardstick got a flat.

He had the tube out in no time and began applying a patch.

    Modern conveniences.

Felt like endless pavement back to the trucks.

We hooked up with the Moab recovering Slowred at Cold Beers and Cheesburgers in North Scottsdale for some grub.

    45 mile ride today.

The beer was good, but I would've rather been riding. :cry

That was a good ride! Minor incidents excepted. I can't believe Nightstalker got the report up so fast! My head still hurts from that hit. Not just the obvious injury but my whole head. More when I laugh or pick things up. It was a hard one! The tire is still holding air so far! I'll add my mostly redundant pics tomorrow.

Looks like you found Dagger trail. All that burned out area used to be grown over the trail and thick as hell. It felt like riding on the moon after the fires. That's a really cool trail.

    More pics incoming!

    Work those forks!

This part looks smooth but we both commented later that there didn't seem to be a rhythm to the trail. Sometimes what looked like the correct line really wasn't!

    Admiring the scenery.

It looks like there are more trails to explore. They might just be dead-ends to old mining prospects.
