Yardstick and I took the bikes out for a run around Sycamore today. We were supposed to go to Prescott for the day, but it was raining there and not at Sycamore.

Four Peaks in the clouds on the way up the Beeline Highway.

Just got my rear shock down at Palo Verde Suspension last week. Forgot to set the sag though, I'll be doing that before the next ride. Couldn't believe how the rear wheel stayed glued to the ground through the nasty rocky single track Yardstick led me across!!

    Off to the trails.

Yardstick was having some starting issues, nothing a little hill couldn't fix.

    Or maybe a bigger hill.

It was bad enough the first time up.

    Back on track.

There were rocks here and there, some were even on hills!

Of course, these were the little rocks.

    A little tight in places.

I wish I had taken some pictures of the nasty trail Yardstick took me up to this point. Actually, I wish I hadn't been on that nasty trail at all!

I headed outside to load my bike in the morning and saw this with a bolt of lightning streaking down out of the clouds in the distance. It's probably a good thing we skipped riding in Prescott where those clouds were heading.

    Sycamore was great though!

I think we gave Nightstalker's suspension a good test! :evil

Some of the ups were a bit much to get pictures on. The downs weren't quite as intimidating. :lol3

Things got a little hairy a couple of times, but we both kept the bikes upright. Sometimes just barely, in my case.

I seemed to be the king of finding dead-ends. One after another I kept trying to get to a trail that didn't exist. Like this one...

Eventually we found some good ones again and made it back. That nasty trail Nightstalker referred to is just that. Steep, singletrack filled with baseball to bowling ball sized rocks. Fun! :D At least that one can be ridden all in one shot. We need to go out and ride Cement Creek, Two Gates and Rattlesnake. There are some real fun sections on those! :evil  :lol3

Very nice pics. It rained almost all day in Prescott. A trials tire, eh? Got to try that.

The trials tire works great! Definitely worth a try. You do have to adjust your riding style slightly. They don't spin very much unless you're really trying hard and they don't like to slide sideways into corners. They're also not great in sand, but they will keep you moving through it. They are amazing in rocks and hardpack. It's like cheating when climbing technical hills. You can almost come to a complete stop on a hill, change direction and keep going and never lose traction. :lol3
