Mid December ride with a end of ride stop to grab a hot choc and bowl of soup... :)
With The_Filly having a coffee after our 1st ride of the season
I've heard it said that anything over 25 horsepower is just wheel spin anyway. How do you like the Grom?
We both love them They are a giggle to ride. The_Filly took over my 2017, so I had to go buy another & snapped up a 2018 last fall for what I think was a good deal at Rocky Mountain Powersports. Have done a ride from Okotoks to Black Diamond by the back route, for a coffee @ Tims. Mechanically & Safety wise, both are identical; any mods done to one, the other gets (K&N, Admore aux Lighting., heated grips etc) Cosmetically they are different; The_Filly's Grom will not be getting side cases, new seat (she doesn't want them) but she does have different colours & sizes on some of her options (hand guards, top case).
This is The_Filly's 1st bike (she has thousands of KM behind me) & she is in love with the bike. We took them over Powderface Trail in late October (put them in the back of the truck) & they handled fine on the gravel roads, but it was a COLD day. It's not an intimidating bike to learn on (hell she took her road test on it) & people who see us out together always do a dbl take
I have motor kits to up the power, just a bit, but they are not installed as of yet, as I am unemployed & the fuel commander stuff is a bit pricey. If you like to add "farkles" they can be a money pit but at such a low "entry price" who cares
I never heard of a Tim’s closing due lack of business , but this one did ; they had the numbers in the summer months but not winter .
I was shocked when I moved to Alberta & found out that many closed at 11:00 pm; think it was more of a staffing issue, than a customer issue. There was one Tim's location, IIRC, in Nobelton (North of Toronto on highway 27) that closed @ 10:00 or 11:00
Oh wow - that was from the summer of 2011.
Back then the coffee was still drinkable.
Haven't been to a Tim Hortons in a couple of years, the quality finally dropped below even my very low threshold of tolerability.
Not exaggerating, every other option is much better - McD's, Country Style, Starbucks, gas stations, random mud puddles.
Rumour is Tim's changed suppliers & Rotten Ronnie picked it up
I heard the same thing, from a very well informed source. I don't drink coffee so makes no difference to me.
The_Filly prefers Rotten Ronnie's to Tim's now

Checking out the flood damage in the Grand Lake area .
Wow, that blue bike is beautiful!
Rouyn-Noranda, QC, Canada....
They've had issues like that here in Goose Bay a few times. Their response was to close the dining room at night, leaving only the drive though open from something like 9pm-6am.
Trying to find enough people to staff a busy Tim's has got to be a nightmare for managers. I don't think our local Tim's would survive without people from the Philippines.

Went for a little scoot on the Groms today, taking the back roads from Okotoks to Turner Valley & then into Black Diamond for an Iced Cap. On the big hills we would lose 40 kmh!!! need to get the big bore kits installed with re-flashed ECU
