    I'm thinking it's just so you can see the fuel sloshing around in the tank. A bit like the clear bevel covers on Ducati's, a gimmick.

    Actually, looking at the photo it looks like the tank and roller door reflecting off aluminium so Steve is probably right that it is a quick filler.
