Part II :evil We are leaving from NYC at 8:00am if anyone is interested. We will be meeting at the gas station on Ave C and Houston. Please be on time so we can get to the PB's fairly early. Rob23 emailed me a new route which will involve less highway which is always great! (Thanks!!) If anyone needs to make other arrangments for meeting up with us shoot me a PM. We will be doing a large bike friendly ride for all us newbies :D

    Thanks

I don't think this ride is as Newbie Friendly as this noob needs it to be.

I'm gonna wait for a beginner's off-roading ride to start off with. Then I will join you all at the PBs.

    Have fun!

Several of us have only been offroading a few times. You are more than welcome to join us. We have all sorts of skill levels, the most important thing is to ride at your own pace and we wait at any intersection if one or the other is slower.

    Hmm...

OK, put me down as a possibly maybe.

    :)

(Oh, just a note, my DRZ still has the stock tank, so hopefully there are plenty of stations along this route)

You folks just have to let me know where to meet you down in the Barrens. I'll be coming up from Avalon. Would guess you fellows will be getting to Wharton by about 10, right? Let me know.

    Wow. 2 SE's at once. :)

My GS is going to seem really big and heavy on this ride...:(

    Looking forward to it though.

I'm working on trying to put together some sort of route using some maps James sent me...

Cool! Hope you can join us. The more I think if it, my SE is really just a modern version of your TransAlp. Alot more expensive, but a little bit prettier. Otherwise, it's just a 450 lb. V-twin with knobbies!

don't be worried.. success in the woods is 95% rider anyways.. just watch Sandflea fly through the woods on his KLR650 (he was passing KTM's left and right at the hammer run D/S in nov). and rich lafferty rode my drz400 (during his class) better than 99.9% of ppl could have ridden any ktm.. i used to try to make excuses RE: "the bike", but i've learned.. it's all about ass time on the seat.

Hmmm... well, as I admitted, I am a bit of a newb, but I will ride my own ride, and do my best on my 17 inch street tires and heavy ass 400SM.
