Most of the GPS', even my older models have a closest gas station option in the menu. If you use a GPS perhaps it is a feature in yours. If you use your phone there is probably an app for that. Depending on the program it wants to send you to the nearest paved road and then direct you from there. I avoid this by changing my GPS mode from driving to walking, in walking mode it will send you through the forest roads. You probably know all of this already since I am usually the last person to figure this stuff out. Even if I know where the gas station is, I need the GPS to find it.

    CANCELED.....

Gonna do some duck hunting tomorrow, if anyone wants to keep me company. A Gonzo kinder and gentler ride. Will be on my Dakar Rally bike.

My "go-to" mountain is Blue in Pa. I can get there in 1 and 1/2 hours, and the price is right. The cold weather returns, so snow making will resume.
Have fun in Vermont. I think they got some snow!

Problem is the data never seems to be up to date. I pass gas stations not on my gps all the time and when I arrive at one on it it’s an old service station with the pumps removed.

So, I’m thinking of going out tomorrow and exploring the area south of Rte 70, north of Rte 72 and west of Rte 539. Basically that triangular area.

Is this a good area to ride and is there anywhere close to park the truck and trailer?

    TIA.

I've never had any trouble parking in the giant Stop and Shop lot across the road from the Whiting Wawa. From there you can go down 539 less than a mile to the power lines on the right, then either take the big wide sandy track to the right of the power lines or the smaller track to the left under the trees (I prefer that one).

    Enjoy!

How is the terrain down there these days?
I'm assuming no frost in the ground?
I'm thinking of coming down Sunday the 16th weather permitting.

Can you change that to Saturday, February 15th? If so, I know an old geezer who could keep you company.
Sunday, Backroads Magazine is doing a nice event at the Motorcyclepedia Museum in Newburg, NY:

For those who missed it, this is what the enemy looks like - this isn't going to make things any easier.

    "
WINSLOW — Police say they were taunted by about 50 motorcycle and ATV riders when officers responded to the Blue Hole in the Pinelands on Sunday to reports of a large party.

Winslow police said they found loud music and empty bottles and cans, and about 100 motorcycles gathered at the lake in the Winslow Fish and Wildlife Management Area off Piney Hollow Road between Route 322 and the Atlantic City Expressway. Their riding was destroying the property, according to police.

While some of the attendees left when police showed up, nearly 50 drove back and forth past the officers in an attempt to taunt them, according to police."

Was just reading that myself. Kind of press we don't need. Gives ammo to "ban riding" crowd.
