I know a lawyer who would be glad to represent anyone who gets a ticket for parking at Assunpink. Total bullshit. In addition, there hasn't been a WMA sign there for years. Guess the boaters didn't like the rule either.
Glad I don't have to worry about it, though! Some value in getting old!

By the way, this is one of the most spectacular photos ever from the Pine Barrens. My wife wants to know if the clouds were photoshopped!:

Thanks, but I didn't take it. I was back home tending to my wife and her little episode of vertigo.

The rider is Guaro, but the picture must have been taken by Either Bill, Gerry, or Trevor. Whoever took it knows a little about photography, considering the composition of the photo, with framing by the trees, the clouds, and the shadows.
Or he was just lucky! :lol2

Edgar - You are a fun-loving guy. The water crossing episode was awesome. Did you ride all the way back to NYC with soaking wet feet?

Doc - Trevor (XR650) took that picture. He has some skills.

I don't think a motorcycle is technically a "vessel or water conveyance" (regardless of how big the puddles are). So the rule shouldn't apply. Surely you're allowed to park there and hike or bicycle. So what's the difference?

1st of all, there are no signs posted of the regulation. 2nd it is nonsense. Most of us know that if some moron legislator created a stupid piece of garbage legislature, it should be ignored.

But regardless, anyone mention that it was 57 degrees yesterday in the woods, and there was no dust?:-)

p.s., Al is correct in his reading of the regulation. It does NOT pertain to a regular car or a car with a trailer that isn't carrying or carried a boat. Does NOT pertain to a motorcycle trailer. So I don't have to put my birth certificate in the windshield!:imaposer

It is a shame you had to leave early. The second half of the ride was very cool... led by Gerry. :thumb The traction was excellent and, as noted, no dust.

That video was hilarious! Much easier the "Barlow" way. Always bring at least two youngsters with you to pick up the bike.
On a serious note, in deep sugar sand, those legs would just dig into the soft sand and be useless, I believe.

Also, I find that going to the gym on a regular basis and doing weight training is good for your health and the ability to lift your bike yourself! Digging a trapped leg out isn't that hard usually, and the butt to the seat technique works pretty well for the big bikes if your not pinned.

    Neat gadget though!

    At the top of Forked River Mountain - you can see all the way to the Atlantic Ocean and see Oyster Creek Power Plant;

I made some minor adjustment to the definition, saturation, vibrancy, highlights and shadows but other than that the photo is legit

Booo. I'm out west skiing all this week. I'm in the following week if the weather is warm.

    My wife shot this today.

Nice! Was that accessed by lift, or did you have to hike up there? Utah?

Also, any of you Southern folks have a depth total for the snow down in the Pine Barrens? Will it be gone by Thursday?
