This is a ride I put together on the fly and thoroughly enjoyed. The route starts near Linville, NC and includes a fun ~30 minute ridge ride which comes out to pavement just north of Lake James. Then we rode the twisty roads around Lake James and enjoyed some really nice views before heading back toward Linville on dirt via Wilson Creek. To orient with the Google Earth view we essentially ran counter clockwise from 12 o'clock.

Thanks for the information. I make a nice loop out of your route starting in Blowing Rock and ending in BR.

Total Noob on this stuff so, be kind! Couple of questions

    1. Is all of this route on legal roads? I don't know if it is common for folks to ride trails or unknown ownership.

    2. For this loop - is it all do-able with a street bike? I actually ride a Silverwing Maxi scoot and am comfortable with it on dirt or gravel but if a DS is needed then, I'll skip it.

    Thanks for any/all help.

The pictures look great. Does this route have any difficult or rough single track stuff. I haven't ridden off road yet.

All of those roads are public , fairly main FS roads.

They are washboards in many areas but if one is careful one could ride the
    routes on a street bike/tires.
