Broke the axle on the sidecar. It dug in & cartwheeled, fortunately right next to some transpower workers

OWCH! Ribs are a such a nuisance when busted - Top Tip: Don't take loads of morphine and watch classic British comedies .... laughter is definitely not the best medicine in this case. Hope ya mend well Steve. Chopper rides are fun I'm told :fpalm

I was wondering how you were getting on seeing as how it's been such a wet week. Welcome to the "Helicopter from the Molesworth" club. Sounds like quite an off.
Heal quickly fellah, and if you need help with the bike sing out.

i hate ferries too, but not so much i'd choose the rescue helicopter to get home.

Well I know of much more fun ways to get chopper rides... and theres no pain involved. Sorry to hear about all the broken bits in the box... :muutt I didn't thinks side cars were supposed to fall over?

Hopefully Gus survived ok? You take it easy and heal up, then at least you can fix Gus back up.

Maybe I should go to the GS ride after all, I had left everything a bit too late.

@dazzadm if you want to to go, I'll just let vege know you are taking my place. Better someone gets the benefit of it.

I didn't get to see Gus. Had various reports from fully munted, to in surprisingly good nick after cartwheeling.

Thanks. I'll talk to the other half this afternoon when I get up and make sure it's ok.

Has Gus been recovered to somewhere safe?

Obviously you aren't sleeping too well...?:eyes

The transpower guys I crashed next to have taken him back to Hanmer.

Yeah well on demand morphine, but it's not touching the sporadic muscle cramps. I'll get some more anti inflammatories soon.

The ride covers lot of what we did a few weekends ago. I have the GPX route, which I could email to you.

Thought I'd broken my back again. Fortunately I haven't, but suspect I've ripped a lot of the same muscle groups

You know that's gonna hurt:fpalm. Ribs don't heal fast, but it's better than your back. I hope you heal quickly.

I bought my son's F650GS, so now I have a new project... just in the process of setting up a fork conversion, even easier than the Airheads.:thumb
