    S/F,

    And the 3/4 seat?

    What a treat, wow!

Looking forward to more of your ride pics with the RS.

I'd say you are 3/4 of the way on my personal "Mt Rushmore" of Type 247 BMWs---g/s, 90s and the 78 RS.

    Cheers!!

In 1973 I was stationed in the Navy on a small ship in San Francisco Bay. Bought my first bike, a 850 Norton Commando, then a Ducati 750 Sport. A guy on another ship on the same pier had a R90S. We swapped bikes on a few rides and that memory was etched in my brain. Finally bought one in April. After 1000 miles, the honeymoon continues. Finished a 60 mile ride this morning and instead of looking back at the bike, I took a few photos. I got the '74 R90/6 out between rain showers on this gray day in Illinois and took some pictures of the prairie with most of the harvest done. These are some soybeans waiting, with cornfields in the distance. The corn is already harvested, with the stalks rolled up into large bales:

^^^ I think the farmers mainly use the baled stalks for cattle or hog bedding through the winter. They may use it as feed, but it has to be mixed with other nutrients to do that. Although round bales of hay or wheat straw have been common around here for quite a while, I don't remember seeing so many fields with baled cornstalks until just recently. I guess there are pros and cons with the practice.

A clear October run through the islands and Chuckanut drive. Heated grips are on the list for voltage draw. 8B891E04-14D6-4A12-B41F-1DDC03BBB3EF.jpeg

The people that can actually ride those 'lumbering' bikes offroad would disagree.

I would have hoped they were shipped off and used to produce some of the ethanol used in today's fuel - ?
