    PXL_20211009_152356100~2.jpg I picked up a very nice R75/5 yesterday, thanks to some great Airheads in Pennsylvania. It'll take a few weeks to get it registered and inspected due to Virginia DMV, I'll have better photos then. A few nice upgrades, but the look is very stock. Thanks @Cookiedad !

    While some Airheads in the Northern Hemisphere are winterizing their motos in anticipation of the coming freeze, I'm kicking tires, checking fluids and preparing for another season of riding in the Desert Southwest.
    Having finished 202 straight days of work, it's time to relax until it starts all over again in 2022.

    Just rode this ‘74 project home from a rendezvous with haul bikes delivery at the nearby Lowe’s. The winter will see a tear down, electrical output upgrade, katdash, Ikon’s, 666F1708-ACB2-433A-BAB0-52779EF1F21D.jpeg etc. and paint return to black silver smoke (the cowl still has the original paint).

    It's going to take a lot of riding to work out relaxation sufficient to offset 200+ straight days of work. Enjoy all of it!!!!

    Well, got my first ever "old guy" bike a couple of days ago, wasn't really looking for it but one came out locally for a good price, so why not, after all, it would be a great cold weather bike to help extend the riding season up here in the North... It hadn't been on the road for 3 or 4 years so a few things needed attention. The PO had removed the oil cooler for some reason but kept the parts. The fairing lowers had been removed as well. The rear shocks were dead, so replaced them with some reasonably good take-offs from a R90S. Some other stuff too;
    IMG_7397.jpg IMG_7398.jpg

    after the filters and fluids were changed, oil cooler back on, "new" shocks, took it for a few short rides, then a bit longer one yesterday (maybe 150 km) then a longer one today (750 km to the northeasternmost tip of the province, Miscou Island)

    I'll admit that the riding position and the weather protection was pretty fun and got back home not at all tired or sore like I might have been on some of the other bikes... I'd managed to run into a bit of rain, and I stayed completely dry, legs and all... I was also able to stuff some food in one of the fairing pockets and had a nice picnic near the lighthouse... I'd always poo-pooed the RT's as being undesirable and ugly... I must be getting old...

    Welcome to the 'Old Guy with an RT' club… I too bought one thinking I would likely put an 'S' fairing on it and re-live the 'S' experience I had in my late 30s. A few rides later in semi-wintry conditions, I began to change my viewpoint – the RT fairing is just so protective and now being in my 60s, I found I could comfortably ride all day at speeds that just wore me down on my /5. I've now decided its a keeper – I still hanker after the S… hey, maybe that's a good excuse to keep looking :hmmmmm

    Post some pics up on the 'Lets see your RT' thread – it needs some love!

    What color red is that? The previous owner of my 75/6 was doing his best to turn it into a 100/7 and that red looks the same as what I have. Rather like it now.

    So you decided not to go with the Non-OEM sunflower seed shell filter? I've heard with an occasional oiling they do quite well! :D

    It's actually the bits of pink insulation that make all the difference!

    I think it’s one of the original colours for the ST. The bike was rebuilt and resprayed about 10 years ago and I think to BMW colour. Does not normally look that bright, I think the combination of sunshine and black wall has made it look brighter
