Anyone else have some, high in the hills, pictures from power line maintenance roads?
Man, get that link fixed! lol
Those pictures give me the jitters (I work in wildland fire fighting).
Mattawa WA, overlooking the Columbia River. I almost got stuck here, spun my tires until I got out. Very steep, and had gotten the hee be jee bees from the scenery.
Somewhere in Belgium (pictures are from 2004)
We rode some powerline roads yesterday in Oklahoma.
I have one of these! From just north of Birmingham, AL!
Man, I only wish I could ride those roads here in Washington State!
When I was a kid back in the late 70's early 80's you could ride power line roads & trails everywhere....
There were Jeep clubs and dirt bike clubs all using them, really awesome.
Then I joined the military, moved away 20 years, retired...then came back.
Now, all my beloved power line roads are gated and marked "No Trespassing" everywhere you go.
Tweakers, illegal trash dumpers, fire starters, squatters, people wanting to sue land owners when they get hurt, etc, etc....
I guess that's progress but it sure is a bummer, all that prime riding area just going to waste.
I was thinking the SAME thing.
While I will almost always avoid "No Trespassing" signs, there are times where I don't. Luckily, so far I haven't seen any power line roads that have them.
Not exactly powerline roads, but this is where the ones I was following ended up.
I ride the local powerlines a lot
Looking south across the Tolt river towards the cascades.
Where is this?
Well yeah...I suppose I could too, but I try to be a law abiding citizen most times, lol.
Here's some from today.
Just north edit:west of Fultondale
I wish I could ride on power line roads but it is illegal in both SC and NC
