Up for sale is my 1991 Miata. I purchased it in 1994 with 11k miles in perfect condition. Since then, i have driven it sparingly in summer, with most of its life spent in my garage covered up. it now has a bit over 61k miles.

It is completely original with the only modification being a boosted FM antenna for the factory installed radio. The top is original as well. While cleaning it the other day, I pushed too hard and the plastic rear window cracked. it’s time for a new top unless you can live with it as is. See the picture. Tires have probably less than 10k miles but they are not new. They don’t show any signs of age, though since the car never sat outside. I replaced the timing belt at about 50k miles, but it was over ten years ago.

Cosmetics: There are minor paint chips consistent with it being driven. The paint is good. I think my car cover abraded the clear coat a bit on the hood, so I wax it pretty carefully. It has never been in any moving accidents. A limb hit the plastic nose section while parked in my driveway about 20 years ago, and I had that repaired properly by a really good shop. The interior is original with very little wear.

Overall I would rate this as a very solid original car with minimal wear and tear and really low miles for the year. In my opinion, it’s way too good to convert to a racer or hot rod, but that’s just me. I like the original stuff.

Pricing: $4500. prices are all over the map on these things. Run out rats are super cheap and pristine ones are 8 -12k asking. some more. If I listed it on the open market, i would go high and see what happens, but I would rather find it a good home without a lot of hassle.

    Happy to discuss more details if you’re interested. 624F734A-A89F-4245-8490-CC588F4BABD1.jpeg 624F734A-A89F-4245-8490-CC588F4BABD1.jpeg 12FA133B-0D73-407F-BAB1-1365747D193C.jpeg 28638A8F-784C-430C-B717-5FA3FBA50B09.jpeg 71C08C87-5BCC-478F-9646-BE309FCD90F7.jpeg 61240BE2-FAE6-4DBA-A8C0-3EDB4C8AC3F7.jpeg E587E1CD-E9B1-48B8-A045-72F0DDC87005.jpeg

It does not have the Torsen diff. That was not available in 1991. I think it has the viscous limited slip. I’ll need to jack it up and check. stay tuned.

on the engine side, it does have the larger “big nose” crankshaft. that was an early issue on the very first cars in 1990 and early 1991.
