Which to Prudhoe Bay? Clean KTM 1190 ADV or beater V-Strom 1000?

    I don't understand what other reason we buy these bikes for. Imagine the additional gratitude and relationship you'll have with the nice KTM when you get back and have finished cleaning (which you'll have to do with either bike).

    These are $15k bikes, not $150k. They aren't rare. Use them up.

    Ride whichever bike you feel most comfortable on. Don't wait to ride in fresh wet gravel until you leave Fairbanks. Seek out some fresh wet gravel this spring and get familiar with riding in it. Ride some mud as well.

    My Aussie buddy and I road it in slop in 2019, me on my GSA, he on his 2002 DL1000. He did fine. Tires are key. $20 each at the fairbanks car wash got most of the mud off the bikes and our ATGATT. The Dempster on my KLR in 2017 was worse.
