As we sort out our different traveling styles, we begin a new adventure. The guys left Redmond, rode a hard long day to Sisters for a bed and a shower (20 miles). Hacky & MM hit it hard and went to Crater Lake and beyond. We laid up at Gina's parents house for a night of R&R.

The following morning found us meeting up with Griz, GG, Ptero, Katoom, and Fighter in Sisters. They were anxious to hit the road so we went as a group into McKenzie Pass, down by Cougar Dam, off to Oakridge. That was were we were supposed to meet back up....

In the Pass, we (USBYGS) stopped to video the gang rolling through some corners and we never saw them again... except for Ptero. He rode with us to the waypoint, waited and waited and waited... No sign, so we headed to our next campsite and Stewart state park (below Crater Lake).

    Where is everybody????????

Sisters is gorgeous. I've got an old restored pickup there (that needs to belong to somebody else). Hope you guys are having a gas. Looks like all details are sorted including who's bringing the table cloth, eh? :thumb

Probably what is slowing the group down is all those extra FENDERS.
Each BMW now comes equipped with what, 5 mudguards, Ideal for low speed high drag motor touring.?

Mom and I are at the Alpenhorn Bistro in Smithers, BC; about to attack the Casiar in the rain. It's 3:15 and we are going to attempt to get to Tatogga tonight (313 miles away)

Thanks to Team Pterodactyl for having us as your guests at the rally! We had a blast! :thumb :slurp

Better on your ass than on that bald head, from experience, good on you buddy, nice to spend some time with you and your bride, she is way too patience, Jo Jo is very cool but she would be kicking my ass for your shit.

Have a great rest of the summer, fuck the demons, we got da power! My grandson will learn of your gift and know of you. His first ride on the top of the world is coming up.

    Cheers

Long story short - When you stop off for a break (breakfast), stop where we can see you as we motor by. We got ahead of the group and never looked back.

Just before the campground we picked up dinner in the form of sandwiches from a pizza joint and beer from a little market. After securing two campsites for 6 bikes, we then waited for the gang...

A two up bike (KTM) showed up and we let them camp with us and sent them off to dinner. While they were gone, the Boyz showed up and started in about waypoints and waiting around for hours... then they started on about the couple who was out to dinner. Katoom claims it was a clean pass. Fite thinks the gal was flippin' him off. Man, they talk tough.

Katoomer lifted up the tent of the strangers and was ready to move it out of our site when we heard the sound of an approaching bike. With the video rolling, we waited to see what would happen...

Hah! It was Gina's parent's! The decided to join us for a few days on the road with the gang. All that tough talk made for great conversation that night around the campfire.

We did have one more tenter show up later. Kit and Dee said they invited a couple on a GS in to camp with us since our site was so big. Okay, we are always up to meet other bikers...

Turned out it was Hacky & MM!! Another surprise for the night. This was really turning into a Rally on the Road!

Kit and Dee hit the road before the rest of us and headed for the cafe that Officer Johnson (from Maksimum Sekurity campground protection) told us about as he ate smores. Needless to say that is the last we saw of those two until that evening.

The rest of us found the cafe, ate a great breakfast, and hit the road for Gold Beach. We had reservations for a boat ride the next afternoon. The pass we headed to out of Grants Pass was famous for GPS folks in motorhomes going over the top at the wrong time of the year and getting snowed in... and not making it out.

We were somewhat split up after gas stops and one tourist trap that Fite, Gravel Gruver, Hacky&MM, and us U-turned back to. The House of Mystery! The famous Oregon VORTEX!!!!!

We were definitely in a strange spot as we felt somewhat off kilter as we pulled in...

Our tale from the road is that we are stuck in Beaver Creek. Scott's bike will not start. Currently dealing with BMW on a way home. More later ...
