In 89 days I will be seeing em on the OCC5
Wasn't Commander Cody supposed to play at State Bridge the night after it burned down, or really close? I was planning to come to that show, then the place burned!
I wouldn't be surprised. That was two sets of owners past when I worked there. 94-97ish. The lady that owned it at the time did a great job of booking fun talent. The locals, which was an awesome mix of raft guides, ranchers, cowboys and bikers, really self regulated pretty well. Bands like Leftover Salmon and String Cheese Incident played every summer. Dark Star Orchestra and Shakedown Street. Tab Benoit and Nina Storey did a double header. Dixie Chicks played a few times, and would play backup for locals, whether they were good singers, or just colorful characters. I started doing security there when I was 19. I befriended some of the biggest, scariest guys in the area. If I had an issue with obnoxious drunks, buy one of those dudes a beer and have them stand behind me. Usually they responded well to me then, and I rarely got swung at. Fun times for sure. When that place burned down, I lost a piece of me it seemed. So many stories. The ghosts would mess with you at 3am sometimes. Never got used to that.
Come May 8 and 9 2020 I will be seeing BBS in Alcoa TN for the annual reunion show!

There back together and playing Redrocks in 2020
I hope i can make it to the Red Rocks, Salt Lake or Phoenix shows. I have seen them a few times at our local festivals, plus the Chris Robinson Experience at our local opera house, but would love to see the full band again.
I was just looking for information on what the brothers were doing these days - I had not read the Black Crowes were back together, that's pretty good news!
I've seen them live a few times over a big spread of years, probably my favorite live act.
59 days till im on the boat with the yahoos
I feel old today
Loved pop music ( am radio ) then and still love some of it now. Just makes me feel good
Heresy to some old farts like me, but I love this shit Been in the garage since bringing home that neglected 500 exc on Saturday with this stuff cranked on “the stereo”
So Blake has been feeling "old" today.
And Randy has been feeling "good" today.
And I guess I've been feeling sorta "traditional" today ..................................
Here's my favorite song from Country Gazette ............ "Down the Road".
Then a couple from Jimmy Driftwood:
"Down in the Arkansas" & "Battle of New Orleans"
Driftwood actually wrote "Battle of New Orleans", although Johnny Horton made it a hit.
Enjoy Amigos! RD
