I was out yesterday on Jones Brook Rd and it was rougher than normal - might not be doable on a Gold Wing this year. It is the road after you stop at Red Hen Bakery in Middlesex ( best croissants in Vermont) and then head towards West Berlin. Super fun though. If you need more dirt around this area- head up Herring Brook then down Lynch Hill - wheel deep water on the later.

I did a little bit of PDR unintentionally while heading south from Greensboro last weekend. Very scenic, everything super hard packed just a few sandy spots.

Who's doing PDR this weekend with BMWMOV? I have a thing Saturday but I'll be at the lake for food and camping Saturday and will join you all Sunday.

Was really excited to participate - new MOV member, first event - and an issue sprang up that removed my availability to go. Hopeful to meet up with some good folks and ride this summer. I'll be following the PDR in a month or so. I'll camp out but the food won't be as good...

I haven’t done the route, but speaking for Vermont in General.........if you use your best judgement, you will not have a hard time finding a spot to stealth camp.

Figured. I've spent a lot of time in Vermont, but generally use campgrounds. Leaving Thurs and expecting full campgrounds, so want to be prepared!

Route 7 South out of Rutland to Danby. Left onto Brooklyn Road which leads you into the National Forest - great spots to camp.

Perfect. Marked it on my gps. Camped under the maple syrup lines last night in Elmore. I'll be heading south today. Got cold last night!

Interested to hear your feedback on the route and camping spots. A buddy and I are leaving this Thursday from the North Shore of Mass and hope to do the whole route in 2 days.

Not sure I'm best one for that. I meander a lot. Depending on your bike I might be able to help. I've been using the pdr to get to class 4 roads and snowmobile trails . yesterday was a good mix of challenging rocks and mud with pdr to make time. If interested, VAST has an app with their trails I just found.

One thing of note, heading north out of Berlin yesterday on the pdr, I was very surprised to see how challenging it got for about a mile. Considering the pdr is pretty much well maintained dirt roads, this would've been difficult on a loaded gs. Im sure the guy i passed yesterday having a hard time going down a residential hill wouldn't have been happy. Riders on dual sports will appreciate finally some fun riding

Your talking FS 10 tabor MT? Have camped there 3 times. Nice road last year the rainbow group were down there (interesting).

That's the one. Nice views and some interesting folks making their way across the LT/AT. Lets hope the rainbow gang finds a more conducive spot for their band of merrymakers. That area didn't work out too well for them.

Campsites. A little out of the way from pdr 2018, but do yourself a favor... No water, toilets, just bliss

Hi everyone - 1st post here! Planning on doing the PDR from around Ludlow to the northern end in a couple of weeks. I've already done TMT from Colebrook, CT up to Ludlow (PDR): so I was wondering if I should use the 2012 PDR route or take this new 2018 PDR route for a similar experience? Anyone tried both and could recommend which route would be best?
(Novice rider with an old XT350, BTW... ...quickly getting addicted to this stuff!!!)

    Thanks!
