    Hey.

In order to make room in SUV for the mother-in-law :D I'm pondering riding my Aprilia SXV 450 from Portland to Ashland.

We're staying at the Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites. I called and they don't have any secure motorcycle parking. I'd have to leave it in a standard outside car parking spot.

I was curious if any Ashland area inmates had a recommendation for a local parking garage close by that offered secure motorcycle parking? My fallback is to bring my heavy duty cable lock and lock it to one of the cars but I'm not convinced.

I won't need the bike when I'm down there (evening [edit:]July 14th thru noon 18th).

    Thanks!

I can't directly answer your question, but I'll let you borrow my minivan for the trip if you'll let me borrow that SXV450! :D
Alternatively, can you put the bike in the room with the MIL? :lol3

What kind of town do you think Ashland is?

The 18th is Friday not Sunday. Did you intend to say the 20th?

It'll be fine in Ashland. No one will mess with it. That being said, you can park it at my house, in Eagle Point.

Yeah well if I could get the month correct it would make more sense. July 14-18..

I realize Ashland is safer than Portland but petty theft is everywhere IMO and this bike screams "steal me for a good time".

Park it in front of the room and throw a ratty blue tarp over it. No one will bother it.

You're welcome to park it at our place in Jacksonville. It's not too far away from Ashland and a fun town to sight-see.

It seems like there is a secure storage place just down the hill, but I could be remembering it wrong. If it is, they may let you keep it behind the gate. Itt wont get stolen in Ashland.

You won’t have a problem just parking in their lot. I’m out of town or you could park in my warehouse a quarter mile away. Sorry.

@Baroquenride We can go for a ride sometime. No mini-van loan required. IIRC you've done me a solid or two. I'm "90% rider 10% tool" type but on the SXV I can leave my buddy in the dust on Hwy 47 Clatskanie/Mist and he's faster than me. It's an utterly stupid bike :D

Can vouch for Ken’s garage space :thumb He’s had my bikes in there more than once!

Pro tip: best to park it with a full tank of gas, fresh tires and make sure you leave the key in the ignition…

    That’s “n00b” btw… I thought leaving the title was common sense? :lol3

Joking aside, @KenR is good people and Jacksonville is a nice little town nearby.

Duh!,,always ask for a ground floor room,,tell them you don't do stairs.
Roll your bike into the room with you at night,,don't tell or ask anyone.
You are paying out the ass for a room rental for the night,,use it!
You are just now figgering this out?

You've got multiple garage space offers, but I did confirm (drove by there yesterday) there is a secure storage place at the bottom of the hill (about a block away). You might call them and ask if you can park it there.

Thanks. The MiL decided she's flying so now room for me in the SUV.

Well, we're actually getting a suite as we have two young kids in tow but next time a situation like this occurs i'll be sure to tell the wife, "sorry dear, but we're all fitting into a single ground floor room". Actually since this will almost certainly result in me sleeping outside maybe Peteys advise is not as idiotic as it sounds as I can sleep next to the bike :D
