I was reading about the Zumo GPS and had a few queries, so asking here.

Setup 1: Zumo is paired to both phone and headset. Phone not paired to headset.

    1) If a normal cellular call comes in, will
    a) it flash notification on the zumo
    b) if yes, if i tap on the yes button, will I be able to have the conversation

    2) If a whatsapp call comes in, will
    a) it flash notification on the zumo
    b) if yes, if i tap on the yes button, will I be able to have the conversation

    3) Can I control spotify, pandora, siriusXM etc through zumo music interface

    4) The Birds-eye imagery is free forever or only for 1 year?

    5) What is the glove friendliness of the Zumo

    TIA

I have a Zumo XT but I have it paired to phone using the new Garmin Drive app and paired to headset (Cardo) so I can’t answer your specific question.

You might want to also post on the Zumo forum for more details Zumo info.

    https://www.zumouserforums.co.uk/

I know I can control music from the Zumo screen that is playing on my phone as well as Podcasts. Not sure about other Music apps.

The screen is very good on XT, near the clarity and sharpness of a smartphone. Unit is fast, very responsive to touch, with or without gloves.

thanks, I will check the forum.

Not sure if you use whatsapp, but if you do, are you able to answer them by tapping on the zumo screen?

You'll want to pair the phone to the headset too.

Was digging around for some info on the Zumo XT, and came across a post

    http://www.gregrice.com/zumoxt/zumoxt.html

If you look at the pics, you will see that it appears every notification from your phone will be seen by the Zumo, but I don't know if it will pop up Whatsapp calls/messages on the screen while riding.

It looks like it might be an option.

Many of us hate anything to do with Facebook.

But really, are you that good of a rider that you can text while riding? I saw someone once doing that. Kinda blew my mind.

:) Chris.. my Q is not about WhatsApp texts ... it was about WhatsApp calls... you can make a voice and video call to WhatsApp connections using the WhatsApp app...

Typically normal phone call show up on GPS device screen with caller ID and you can tap "yes" to answer them and "no" to reject.

Since WhatsApp calls are data calls , my question was that do they show up on the zumo display with the Caller ID and yes/no dialogue?

PS: why I am asking this Q is, I keep my phone in my pocket and when call comes I have to stop and check....

I saw a guy riding down a busy city street texting one-handed with his flip phone. As he approached a red light or needed to clutch, he'd stick it in his mouth until he could get his hand free.

Why the hell would someone use an app on a phone to make a call instead of simply, you know, using the phone to make a call?

    :hmmmmm

Well, since it's been hinted at a few times in this thread and I don't know a better place to ask.

When you pair your phone with the Zumo, does the audio from your phone route through the Zumo, or does it just use the display for media control and notifications?
