right. it's not a competition, but don't tell him that. he's in competition with the world to be the "X", whatever X may be. there's something missing in his life. lots. people who are happy and satisfied generally dont scream "LOOK AT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK WHAT I DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!" every chance they get.

    Good story, thanks as always.

Why did you paint the foot of your kickstand yellow? So you can see if your bike is sinking from a distance?

Ulna, radius, tib, fib, pubis rami and pelvic fracture, four ribs. Three 'incidents'. Excuse spelling.

Meh, I rode my Ducati GT1000 to Deadhorse and you see everything from sport bikes to scooters there. An achievement it ain't. Fun though, sure! Depending on the weather...

Oh yes, certainly -- it depends on when you went. But given that this is in a recent newspaper, I presume this crossing of the Atigun was made in the last year or year before, in which case it is much less of an achievement as it was when you did it.

Three years ago I was going to be the 1st person to ride a Kawasaki Super Sherpa to the bottom of SA, but turned around in Panama when I heard someone else had already done it. Frustrating isn't it?
To make matters worse I waited for a ferry to take me around the Darien Gap and it never showed. Damn Fritz! Then my wife called and said she was sick of babysitting my dog, and if I didn't set my course back north she was gonna take him to the pound, cancel my credit cards, and get this. My Spot messenger account of all things.
I guess hitting the "OK" button was for nothing after all.
    Damn it was fun!

Happy Christmas and New Year Cavalry officers!

Bit late with this as I just came off a one month ban. Firefight over on the Africa Twin thread.

Naked picture of me? Jesus Christ wtf Max.

But if you pick a country I should be able to produce a backpacker trophy shot with a few exceptions.

No, still riding Lucinda, my beloved HP.

Been looping around Asia for a while including China which was an eye-opener.

The AT is very interesting for the rtw liter-bike crowd. The Europeans will love it. Maybe the perfect rtw solution if you want a multi and can ride a heavier bike. In my opinion it's more impressive than it initially appears and I'll get the 'R' version when it appears. Although my HP2 is technically brilliant, it's uncompromising in a cut-and-thrust way and never gives you a break. But I've got stories of how good a bike it's been, just amazing what it can do. I'll keep it for 3 or 4 day rides when this one is over.

Sorry, no public rr. Nothing to contribute that hasn't been done already, lol

Yeh, I got that the first time.

But I needed a follow-up to keep the CPR going on this slowly dying Latin America forum.

Well, if I was MG I would be thinking: 1) not without the backpacker's permission 2) unless the individual clearly cannot be identified and 3) no nudity.

Let's see what he says. We could start a new thread. Might be a bit sad if we get no submissions from the Cavalry, lol.

Panama was great. I didn't go south to Yaviza which I regret. Bizarre shit though, that old CIA listening station (once the most powerful in the world?) abandoned and full of snakes, the huge old gun batteries, unexpected if you didn't know the history, which I didn't. Spent some time down at Boca Chica, most beautiful coastline ever, intimidating offshore diving. And Finca Dracula near Volcan is one of the top five orchid specialists in the world, stunning place. The list goes on, tons of cool things. But missed the best, south, for sure.

Edit . Plus the highest heels and tightest black pants anywhere, in the City.

After consideration a 'backpackers I have scored' photo album seems a bit tacky.

Julio who reads this forum would think I've lost my fucking mind.
