Nice set-up, but where is the cooler?

I found ADV after your little trip, so never posted on it before. It was worth a week or so of reading though, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

I thought about you and GS Bones last Friday when I was in Watkins Glen. I stopped at the park to get a few pictures and was thinking about the criminal acts performed there about a year ago.

I'm fairly new to ADVrider but have been hooked on this thread.

Josh - damn, but you've got an excellent writing style! Combine that with your pictures and this thread was one incredible read!

    Naysayers...
    Fuck 'em.
    They're 40 year-old virgins living in their mom's basement.
    :boid

Glad to see you are doing swell and congrats on the engagement!

On a side note, as I hadn't finished this thread yet, when I picked up my new (to me) FJR1300 last Friday, and the SO took a picture of me by it, for some reason I fel comelled to throw up the Shocker... (OK - not a great Shocker, but what the hell...)

Yeesh! I should stop hanging out in Hacks and Regional for a bit and see what's happening over here more often! Welcome back Josh! Great to hear that life is treating you well! :clap

I stumbled on this thread late, but I've been reading it every night during my breaks for weeks now. What a great adventure, and I admire what you did, went through, and took the time to share with us.

The naysayers are small people, with small opinions. Thanks Josh for the entertainment and inspiration!!!

    Hi Josh

It's amazing how many people you have inspired and affected by your journey and in such amazing ways. I know you went through some tough times with a few people which was a shame, but for every person that had a negative opinion of you there were hundreds to tell him / her where to stick it.

I am mainly active in another biker forum which does not have much to do with touring, but when we drop onto the subject I always point them at your webpage and I know people get pleasure from it.

Good luck with the future mate, and if you ever travel anywhere again I hope you tell your story like you did this one!!

You might consider taking the handgun! Violence can and will come to you at any time...if you are not prepaired for it you will never need to be prepaired for it agin. Be judged by 12, not carried by 6.

welcome back josh, glad to hear everything is going good for you. reading the response to your new post shows what an influence you've had on the readers of this post. myself, i was actually cleaning up my favorites on my puter here at work and when i was about to delete this one, i thought "what the hell, click on it to see what happens". glad i did. so, can we expect any ride reports? sounds like you've gained a riding partner, congratulations.

Cool site. I think that this is the first time I have posted in this thread, but I have enjoyed it the entire way.

Like a few others have said, it was this thread that brought me to ADV in the first place.

    Thanks.

Good to see you back on line again. You have no Idea how sad I (and many others) were that the knobbers got to you. Screw em and enjoy your trip. You are only young once and this is a rare opportunity. Again, glad youre back.
