Thats what I thought, a good flush in the morning will equalize the weight difference between the AMG and Lithium battery.

Jim thanks for the detailed instructions.

Yes, thanks for the pictorial. I was wrong; the GS battery is mounted the same as the GSA's.

Thank you for the detailed tutorial Jim.

Today, I stuffed an Odyssey PC535 into my ‘15 GS.
It wasn’t too bad. I removed the foam base and cut the fins out only where the plastic holding plate is fitted. Otherwise, everything else went back into place.

I use the Odyssey OMAX Ultimizer 6A to maintain my batteries.

    Cheers!

Very good to know. I like the Odyssey. Did you take any photos of the trimming?

I just swapped out my battery using this great post. I installed a Deka ETX14, as I have had good luck with them in other bikes. But sure enough, the upper frame grommet for the battery cover was missing when I pulled the cover. Is there anywhere to get these, other than BMW? Thanks.

They are fairly standard, but I can't say where they can be obtained.

Try looking at any parts store or automotive repair shop that works with electronics and/or re-wiring, especially a hot rod or custom auto fabrication shop. Look for a similarly sized grommet that would be used to shield wiring going through something like a firewall penetration. Bring the battery cover with you so you can confirm the inner diameter will fit over the piece that goes into the grommet. Then, a rough outer diameter measurement of the mounting tab should be enough to get you where you need to go.

Good choice on the Deka:thumb, mine is going on two years with zero issues and continues to start the GSA a lot better than the original stock(small)battery ever did.
