More smudge than scuff, but yeah, me too!
I am kind of past the bagger thing, in any brand, but that turned out well. I think it looks much better without the rear seat and the front seat lip is just fine. I am expecting some real mufflers soon.
Ha, once I was prepping my R1100RS for the Dells Rally, just needed to do a "quick" oil change. Usually only takes me 20 minutes. Got the new filter in, drain plug in, four qts of Mobil1 in. Fired it up, oil all over the damn place from the oil filter. Come to find out the oil filter seal was stuck to the block and I spun on the new filter onto it, basically two seals but no sealing. So much for 4qts of Mobil1.
I think the lip on the rear seat fits the bike.....my 2 cents. Great vision on this project....
Thanks. I wont make a full decision until I get it out on the road.
a rack behind the front seat, a duffle bag, and cruise.
Yup, unless you are committed to a passenger, it would look just the right amount of badass with the single seat and a tote behind.
And it has factory cruise...
I might just bend me up a custom rack that can easily be bolted to the seat bolts, so it can be convertible. That is a great idea!
That's the answer! A custom rack behind the seat for solo riding and carrying more gear, then bolt on the seat for those 2-Up rides.
Lots of other stuff happening, like a new to me car, so not much done on the project bike. I did, however, finally get the brakes properly flushed, and can now start final assembly. Hopefully have it rideable this weekend, if the rain holds off.
Finally got it nearly done. It runs great and rides well. The 70 pound weight loss and slimmer front tire helps handling a lot. Other than the ABS light on, it is working perfectly, even the brakes.
Video of it running at the end of the video.
Looks fantastic! Great video - what a ton of time and work you put into the dragon. She sounds great. Well done JVB! Thanks for the taking us along for the ride.
thats definitely an improvement!
Thanks guys! It was a lot of work, but I learned a lot, and it came out pretty good!
Great transformation,...from the "ugh, I can't look at that" to the "hey, I gotta get a look at that!" Best looking CLC by far. Will there a feature in the BMW MOA Owners News?
It they take 5' photos, sure!
Thanks, it really does look and run great! (at 5'!)
