So has the Night Dragon been out and about? What kind of responses have you gotten when riding it?
Not yet. I spent the last week in Iceland. I plan on taking it to the Bikes and Breakfast on Sunday, and riding around tomorrow and Saturday to get it settled.
Those who have seen it like it, and it has gotten good responses from online sites.
I put 20 miles on a shake down ride today. Rode great, handled way better. It is ready for Bikes and Breakfast on Sunday, even though it will be 30° when I leave home, and no heated gear.
I'm not into that style at all, but THAT THING IS AWESOME!!!
Good job! Enjoy!
Thanks. It is generally not my style either, but I have to admit, it is actually fun to ride, if a bit too loud for me without ear plugs.
Maybe I will see that loud pipes do save lives?
Looks really sharp! Excellent choice of dragon too.
it has a single injector
needs a two into one into two mufflers
oops, throttle body
It has one injector on each side, and dual TBs in the airbox.
25° when I left home, no heated anything except the right grip. It was chilly on the 25 mile ride, but the bike handled great. Freeway, twisties, sweepers, all really good, for a cruiser.
Not a huge turn-out, maybe 40 or so, but still fun.
WOW! Great job on the transformation Jim. My Dad just sold his CLC after asking if I wanted it for years. Kinda kicking myself in the ass right now.
Thanks! As with all projects, it is a learning experience!
Great looking Motorcycle. I had a CLC for more than ten years and liked it a lot. I like your take on the adaptation. I spotted this thread and read the whole 16 pages today. ALL the pit falls you came across and some you didn't ARE WELL detailed on the old chromeheads forum. I think for the money you spent doing this your eye was just right.
Curious, are you happy with how it sounds? Any audio for us?
See post 292.
I understand the Night Dragon moniker,....but I still prefer the irreverence of Dark Helmet.
One of my friends took some photos of me riding up to the event.
That’s a damn fine looking bike! Well done on the paint job… Looks badass.
Thanks, hopefully it will sell for a decent price!
All that work, care and attention, only to turn around and sell it? I wish I was that adept and energetic. I also wish I had the money to buy that beast. Looks like a lot of fun to ride. I hope it brings a good price for you, especially after seeing the amount of work and attention to detail you put into the dragon.
