    Battery voltages:
    Bike off: 12.5V
    During start: 9.9V
    Engine idle (1500rpm) : 14.56V

I ride a little off-road - and the bike barely want to start. Cranks once or twice and I might get lucky it starts.
I leave it for 10-15 min and it starts.

Got a brand new battery and still have this behavior.
    Bike got 30k miles.

Any ideas what’s wrong here ?

Mileage of bike? Starter itself isn't out of question?

Depends on the symptoms. Does it crank and not start or does it not crank strong?

9.9 v on load is borderline. But, pull the starter and see if it is all gunked up. Often a clean and lube fixes it.

Or a bad ground? What's the voltage on cranking?

    It’s 9.9V during cranking.

It does not crank strong and often only have 1 or 2 plus and then dies.

Fully charged it starts every time.

Ok - I will look at this. I will update you. I’m out of town next week but will get to it afterwards.

Sounds like a failing battery since it only tries a couple of times.

I have a brand new battery on, but it could still be bad.

I'd pull that battery and have it load tested. Alternatively, swap in another, known to be good, battery.

Keeping an eye on dynamic charging voltage isn't a bad idea, either, but probably overkill.

Also, any accessories wired into this battery?

    Hey guys,
Late return for me on this topic.
I ordered a new starter from EME and the bike is doing great now. I still want to run test on a full day ride, but already feel like it’s happy to start again. IMG_8373.jpg IMG_8374.jpg

I’ll update when I get back from vaca on the test ride.
