I'm not sure if it's the riding position, geometry, trendy urban landscape or clothing...... I can't really put my finger on it
All I noticed was the bmw exec duck paddling it through the gravel at the start of the first video.
I once read an article that said that in 30% of motorcycle accidents the rider hits face first. Alright Plaka you and I are old, and we were both riding in the days before full face helmets became popular. Back in the day everyone wore 3/4 helmets. That is all anyone used. Where are all those faceless riders. Riding with a 3/4 has advantages and disadvantages but it's not the same thing as riding without basic protections like boots or gloves.
If I was worried about saving myself from all chances of bodily harm I certainly wouldn't ride a motorcycle. Period.
I just bought an air vest. (Friend begged me to.) I’m pretty impressed with the design. Very unobtrusive.
And, I just heard that in Denmark very few riders wear helmets at all, and some use some sort of air collar.
Is it really a hardtail.
I find any motorcycle marketed to "the American cruiser crowd" to be uninspired and downright ugly as shit. Just my opinion, I'll keep my '83 airhead and pass this one up. Could probably buy a house for the same money.
I think there is a wide-spread misconception of what an airhead is. Except for the goofy attempts in the 1980s at making a cruiser, airheads have traditionally never been designed as such. The essence of the airheads is simplicity of design and an emphasis on servicing the machine with what tools are under the seat. Old airheads were and still are user-friendly touring companions, which the design studies posted above are certainly not. If you want a modern machine that embraces the airhead spirit, look to the Royal Enfield 650 twins. Ducati and H.D. both have a v-twin beating heart, but are wildly different machines. An opposed twin engine does not an airhead make.
Missed that. I still won't be interested in this steaming pile. Sacrificing function in the name of chasing a look is just fucking stupid.
Personally what I see there is gorgeous, My worry is what the EPA is going to make it look like. And I pray to God they don't make it California compliant

They are bound to make it Euro compliant which is far more strict than CA for motorcycles.

I don't recall BMW ever making a "cruiser" airhead. In the '80's or otherwise. I'm thinking you have a misconception of what an airhead is.

Eh. Not my type of bike. If I wanted something like that I'd just as soon have an HD. Not a bad looking motorcycle. I like the exposed driveshaft. Those are some seriously long intakes. I wonder what it weighs?
