    Mark,

My wife, daughter, and I ran into you at Overland Expo last weekend. I can say that meeting and talking to you for a bit was the highlight of a very cold, wet, and rainy event (our first). When we got home, my daughter wanted to see more about your ride, so I have started showing her some of the report. Needless to say, she is quite impressed. Thanks for such a great story and it was a pleasure to meet you in person!

Skiflyride - was really great meeting you and your family. Was great. I'll post up the photo tonight!

So glad your daughter was interested.

It has been so awesome to meet people that enjoyed reading about my RTW ride and life that lead up to it! WOW. Wonderful people every place I turn! :clap

I've pondered this many a time as I ride down the road. It's a bit out of my pay grade but here's my hypothesis.
The wind is causing electric static on the plastic face shield and your nose is the nearest thing for it to ground out to. Think of a little lightening storm going from face shield to your wittle nose . Just saying, rj

Hello Sam. Indeed I am still living most of the time in Long Beach! Hope to run into you soon.

:wave JM + TM. Think of you often.... cannot wait for your big adventure!

Have been back in the USA for over 2 years now. Getting on with life and work. Been a very interesting reentry to life back home. Still adjusting. So many people have reached out to me this last two years.... Wondering what my next adventure will be. Have some thoughts..... But not ready to talk about them, as I have spent the last couple years settling back into life here. Was a challenge to get back to work, and deal with the day to day corporate life. Realize I just want to simplify life, live for the moments and not get to caught up in my past ways of living. Not that they were bad, but I am in a new place, and want to live very intentionally.

Everyday is an adventure as I returned and have started to live the next part of my life. Not sure what direction life will take me, but Ok with this. What I can say, it that my travels have made my life richer. The people I have met, become friends with, shared life with, inspired, given a bit of a new perspective to, have made it all worthwhile.

Last time I was up in Portland, I saw a woman who works at the drug store next to where I stop for coffee. She gave me a big hug and exclaimed; "You need to get back on the road! I miss your Ride report and seeing the world through your eyes!" have heard this fairly often, and appreciate that so many people followed along, and connected with my trip.

Happy New Year to all. Make the most of 2016. See you on the road!

Happy New Year Mark. If you're at loose ends tomorrow morning, come join us at the Hill Street Cafe in La Canada for breakfast (8:45ish) and a ride up to Newcomb's Ranch if the road is passable.

I read through this RR in a period of 4 days and I must say I was very inspired by Radioman and his travels. It is very interesting to get perspective on other parts of the world that we often only hear about when something bad happens. I have been riding motorcycles my entire adult life and recently made the switch from Harleys to ADV bikes. Like Radioman, i have always found that my most introspective moments occur on 2 wheels. It is definitely therapy for the soul.

Radioman, your photography, words, and goodwill have lasted long after this RR ended. Thank you for this gift you have shared with us all.

Weird, I have the same Ruta 40 hat. Did you get it from Ruta 40 motors in MedellĂn? The BMW Motorrad shop. That's where I got mine, never seen one elsewhere. Strange seeing it on someone who isn't me.
