There was talk about Santiago Peak tomorrow. But the road (Main Divide) is closed until further notice. I would really like to do something on Saturday. I have family obligations on Sunday.

OK...here are some options. El Mirage on the GS's. A fine suggestion submitted by Nick.

Or DS ride Picking up Big Tujunga Hgy to Angeles Forest Hgy to the 14 to Bouquet Cyn to Goram to Frasier Park to some dirt roads to Ojai, blah, blah, blah.

Also open to suggestions as I am taking a ride-planning weekend off (or at least I'd like to if I could keep my big mouth shut).

    updated...

I get the impression that Saturday is a bad day for an extended ride. Does sunday work better for you guys?

If so, i will act as guide and host for this adventure. I just need to know what evryone has time to accomodate.

    Sunday works great for me.
I'd much rather find some dirt than ride with the sportbike guys. I'll set up the VCR for the race.

Elmirage or where ever is fine by me. You know my tastes in dirt...

ok, i seriously have to go for a ride today. In the last week, i have dedicated more than 28hrs to GTA - San Andreas. Someone is going to have to do an intervention because i cant drag myself away.

Mr Head, since Dave can only ride morning tomorrow, lets do the Ortega ride with the guys on Crash Club. Afterward, i will take you down Killin trail to the dirbike park at Wildomar. There are a couple of small loops that would be ok to start on the gs with. Depending on how you do, we could make the loops larger.

    Big Dave, thoughts?

YEah I read that. Cool. I mean COLD!!

I checked out the Ralley2 BMW suit today. That looks like the deal.

Plus I think I'm going to be re-setting up my tire changing, since a shop wants near $300 to change tires, to TKC80's.
I can buy the tires online and get the gear set up. I'll be taking to Apex Tuesday for sure.

So the Ortega Crash Club tomorrow morning? I'll leave the boxes off.

All that and you are going to run Ortega tomorrow. Sheesh....

Good call on the TKCs, Mr. Head. I was a little afraid of them hearing Nick's and others' stories. They were fantastic in the dirt. Really good on the pavement and not a scary as I had thought in the wet. Now for the sobering wear issue.... Aside from wear, you may leave them on there.

I am certainly into a DV ride. That IS an awesome report. Anything wrong with going during the IBMWR gathering in Jan, besides the fact that it is nearly three months away?

    Hey guys...

Im heading over to Irv's in a bit to pick up supplies. baby needs an oil change.

The TKC80's were great tires. They rode well in the canyons (despite being knobbed) and were fantastic in the dirt. About the coolest thing though was the kerb factor. I would hear comments all the time like, "thats a dirt bike?" and "you take that thing in the dirt?" and "wow you have nice calves, do you work out?".

I think our next ride should be out to DV, no question. We should plan it sooner than Jan, so someone pick a weekend and lets book it!

As for this weekend, yes, all these gyrations and we end up going to the usual spot, Ortega. If Mr. Head is willing, we i will take him over to Wildomar. Its a great place to get some dirt experience and some dirt photos!

Dec 2 or 3 - 5 or Thanksgiving weekend....meaning we won't all go dirt bike riding at Motoventures.

BTW, who wants to learn more about what we are doing in the dirt and go to the Motoventures school? (I love watching these threads twist and turn...). And what about ajdusting the flap-o-static adapter to get the proper swing lever angle?

    Finally, a ride is planned.

I'll see you in the AM.

Thanksgiving is out for me. I've got family coming into town. Besides the trackbike is up on blocks. I need tires for the GS, GPS, gear... the list goes on...

Maybe once Lois is out of the country, I'll go buy gear...

while the cats away... My kind of play anyway.
