hello everybody, i' m a Rally Navigation premium user. Does anyone knows how i can keep screen active continuously? My device (Samsung Note 4) doesn't provide that option. I 'm planning to upgrade to ipad mini, so my next question is if a simple bluetooth controller (volume up/down - previous/next track) keep controlling the app in ipad?

    thanks in advanced

We just released a new iOS version of the app that fixes this issue.

    Hello Mike,
I did some testing of the rally roadbook reader app the last days.
Was working fine. Today I got a new android device and installed it but I was not able to open any sample roadbooks.
On my old tablet it worked fine. During testing I uninstalled the app on my old tablet and made a new installation but now it is also not working anymore on it.
I noticed there was an update yesterday (06/26/19) of the android app. Is there any new bug?
On my IOS device it is still working fine.
    Please check
    thx
    Gerald

    Hi Mike/Rally Navigator Team!

I was trying out your Mobile App and it is just amazing, also got the Premium sub. to make some RB´s to get into/learn Roadbook navigation.

While using the app on my 8" Tablet i tried to turn off the odo and the heading so i could use the reader in landscape mode but i couldn´t figure out how to do it.
Everything is set to off but one wich i can´t disable, either the odo or heading.
I use a seperate device for odometer and heading and in Landscape mode the Tablet fits perfectly behind my fairing but the boxes on the screen take up more than half of the screen.
My question now is, is this on purpose, a bug or maybe will u add this functionality in the future.

    I´m using android
(sry for my bad english! :) )

    Thanks
    Juergen

    Hello

    I understand what you’re describing.

This is a purposeful design (for now). However, I’ve had a few requests similar to yours. I will add this request to the list. It may be a bit to get it completed.

Thanks for your feedback and patience.

    Mike

    Hello RN Team,

Please excuse me if I missed it, but are there any instructions on how the RN Mobile Roadbook reader handles the OpenRally GPX features (WMPs, etc)? I put a WPM into a test roadbook using RN Premium, but when I hit that WP on the ground using the RN mobile reader nothing happens. Is there supposed to be some action such as what happens with the RallyComp as the WPM is approached? Does the mobile app keep a record of WPs achieved?

    Thanks in advance!

    Tom:

The OpenRally tags are NOT used in our Reader app. Currently, the Reader app does not provide functionality for tracking WPM Etc.

If I get motivated in the future, I may add waypoint tracking to the App.

    Thanks for the interest,
    Mike

The blue lines connect waypoints that are closer than 200m together. It is to alert a rider that one way point closely follows another.

    Hi Mike!

Thanks, I thought on that but it seemed the criteria doesn't follow the rule. My error, it's ok!

I apologize I should have been more specific, my budget is $20 for this. The controller I posted above is $15 including shipping

The roadbook apps use Vol +/- and Previous/Next Track functions to control ODO and Scroll. Those are typically sent by media controllers so it is unlikely that a game controller would work but there are some 'handlebar mount' media controllers out there that are battery operated(carry spare coin type batteries).

I tried the previous version, https://www.amazon.com/VR-Bluetooth...HSA5VR7GBBZ&psc=1&refRID=272PKV48FHSA5VR7GBBZ . It emulates volumes and media next-prev only if you put the Android/iOS switch on the iOS side, plus the stick emulates arrow keys in that mode. On the Android side it becomes a mouse or something like that, basically it becomes unusable for that purpose. New version claims to lose the switch and determine the OS automatically, so it probably is more of a hassle, if not impossible, to get desired functionality out of it. I am going to rig my own buttons to it anyway, so it does not matter, but the shape is also very awkward and bulky, not easy to mount cleanly.

There are many options that mount directly on the handlebar, check https://www.amazon.com/s?k=handlebar+bluetooth+controller&crid=68DTR2E662BO&sprefix=handlebar+bluetooth+control,aps,264&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_27 or search "handlebar bluetooth controller". Most of them emulate volumes and media prev/next out of the box. I have no personal experience with them though.
