Pretty much. That part of the trail was pretty steep and chewed up by 4x4 traffic. In between the large boulders and roots was really soft dirt. You had to keep your speed up, avoid what you could and hope for the best when hitting the large obstacles that couldn't be avoided. JL and I were having a contest to see who could fall the most/hardest. HowNowBC, on the other hand, seemed to be a close relative of Jesus as he floated above the obstacles on his KLR.

No. Mr Long Legs was just walking over the obstacles :rofl

Just kidding, he rode like god (or his son) and he was always ready to help us lifting our bikes after numerous crashes :smooch

Lower seat height and longer legs made it a much easier ride for me. After talking to the 4x4 guys I was really thinking of bringing rope and pulleys on the next one!!

Geeze- I didn't realize it was a "members only" ride. I'm not sure if I want to spend three days with a bunch of poofties riding overpriced, oversized, over accessorized bikes :rofl .

Aww Shit... Yes I do :D

Our mufflers should be sufficient I think. I would be more concerned about Cat. coverters.

'jette and I plan to ride, although I haven't yet registered. I'd better get on that right away.

Last I heard, R-dubb and J-L were in. Are you guys still going on this one?

Do you have to pre-register for this thang?

I may be able to go at the last minute. I loved the pictures and words you all took last years!!

On the other hand, I may just go to the bay area hang with the folks and mess around on skyline with the bro..

    Will have to see.

I'm in. Paid in full, Fresh knobs standing by.
I plan to leave Friday midday from mi casa in Oakley. I'll prolly take as many side roads as possible to avoid the stampede out of town.
As for Tuesday, I had planned to work it but maybe I will take it off also.

As they had indicated, friday camping will be limited to the first 100 bikes registered...
I think I have heard this last year but it was not enforced.

Of course there will be an Advrider area, just look for the pile of beer bottles.:):

I'm still a go @ 99% chances, but Baby rules if there is a problem. That's why I didn't pre-registered, it cost a bit more but you can register on the site. Really looking forward to it :beer

I been out with Bob Love identifying and pre-riding a bunch of unpaved GS legs. There is one, 25 mile, sand, rocks, steep trail that kicks butt. :evil Very difficult for me; perhaps not too awful hard for a few others. There are three or four other legs that are mostly easy. On some of the easy rides there are places to take rough side trails.

The road route has a couple of very tight 50 mile F.S. roads that should be great. In general the road route is not as remote as it was last year, so speed could be more of an issue. :(:

I don't want to give away too much, but if any one wants more info, send me a P.M.

    Should be a blast!

Great news, it's gonna be fun! If you can, keep the secret though (even privately) that's the thrilling part about the ROL...
