EC and SCS are somewhere on the BRP having wisely decided to bypass the Dragon. :nod We have 7 weeks to go, something tells me it will be organized before then.

Traditionally it's an after Cromag thread.

And it is now after Cromag...

Ok...I've gathered from the 2018 'in' list here and the various conversations at Cromag that there is still interest in a late October camp out so I'm going to explore this further.

As some of you have already heard there is a wrench or two thrown into the works.

First wrench was a price increase for the group site. Now $600 for the 2 nights (last year we paid $237 after a discount plus firewood)...except the last phone call this morning with someone else said $250/night.:scratch Not sure what it all means yet as I'm waiting to hear from the person that can really get me the info I need. (Called and emailed last week...no reply so far.)

New wrench I learned of today...the group site is now called Quiet Cove. I've been told there are already a couple of reservations in that area and I suspect they aren't ADVers. Haven't gotten the official word but it wouldn't surprise me if this precludes the likes of us from taking it over as we have in the past.

Options...assuming something at our former location can't be arranged...

    1. Bail on the idea

    2. Seek an alternate location

I don't like the first one. Looking into options in the area as well as not in the area though
the coast has typically milder weather that late in the season. I say typically because as many of the seasoned veterans recall we did get snowed out back in 2011.

One idea is we all simply rent sites in the old area. This has it's own set of issues. The first might be the quiet hours if anyone else is there. The other is regular rates would apply. :KLR
