    Details:

    What: Motorcycle campout

    When: October 26-28, 2018

Still plenty of time for those of you blessed with the little gremlins to make plans to be back the following day and take care of business.:deal Go on. Get creative.:D

Where: Quiet Cove section at Recompence Shore Campground, Freeport, Maine now known as Wolfe Neck's Ocean Front Camping

How: Farm rules - you want it there, you bring it.:deal

To paraphrase mutineer in the BYOB thread of years ago...

No band. No meal. No maps/route sheets. No organized rides. No stickers.

    Anyhoos...

This is about hanging with your moto-buddies, riding motorcycles - no matter what they are - and meeting back at camp at the end of the day to tell lies over a few refreshments. :freaky

If that ain't enough, stay home. You won't have any fun.

You are responsible for your own good time and safety.

    Curious as to what to expect? Check out these links: 2017 2016 2015 2014 2013 2012 2011 2010 2009

    Hope to see you there!

The entrance to the camping area is NOT - I repeat NOT single track.

We MUST behave ourselves on that trail. :deal

Don't even think about spinning a wheel on it.

Doing so will ruin it forever.

Please respect that one rule of this campout.:deal

If yer interested, please raise your hand.[IMG]

At $600 that's $40 each + wood for 15 people. (for those that can't do math.)
So if we get 20-25 commitments......

    Is it $600 or $250? I'm confused.

Hate to even answer at this point as I've gotten 3 different answers from 3 different people (all the wrong people) and I'm hoping to get the real scoop tomorrow...but I will answer anyway.

Last I heard is the group site we had the last at least 2-3 years is now $250/night. First number I was told was $300/night.

New problem is the group site is now called Quiet Cove and has some campers booked the same weekend so we can't take it over. For more details on what that means go to the link and site. Short version is there would be a couple of campers expecting a quiet weekend in there and they would instead experience us. Probly not part of their new business plan.

Working on maybe getting a different section with at least a buffer between us and other campers.

Other option is move it up one week and the group site (as of today) would be available...but it conflicts with my own personal schedule. Might be able to adjust that but don't know yet.

But...as you point out the math...let's say it is $500 ($250/night) and 20 commit it's $25 plus wood. 25 people is $20 plus wood. $600 with the same number committing is $30 and $24 for 2 nights camping (plus wood). Still in the KLR zone.:deal

We burn a coupla tree hunert at least. Everyone buys a few bundles...yadda yadda yadda...

For any first timers reading this the costs are pretty simple. Total divided by the number of attendees. Usually collect it there. $500-600 up front may change that but we'll see how things shake out.

Unfortunate that there will be other campers in the "quiet zone". This has disaster written all over it. Possibly a certain individual could set his tent up as the buffer, could get the other campers to believe there is a mid-night bear attack and leave?

    Oh - and in.

I eyeballed the updated hoity-toity interactive map...
If we could pitch tents in the organic vegetable fields of West Bay we'd be pretty far away from the quiet zone..
And who knows, maybe I can dig up a Rutabaga and fashion it into a sweet Halloween mask for the win!

    14) It’s funny that pirates were always going around searching for treasure,
and they never realized that the real treasure was the fond memories they were creating.

Winslow Memorial Park would possibly another option.

Let me know if an in person approach might work better.
