I will be in Red Lodge Montana with my Wr250r and curious if anyone knows if there are any dirt or trail rides in that area...
I'll also be there next thurs or fri, dualsporting with my buddy( ktm 450 and drz 400). Let me know if you find something good. Looks like you can head a little west to benbow rode near Dean.
Sunny and warm today... I will check out the old 1881 stage coach road tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.
I will be here for a few days next week, I will see if I will be here Thurs as the week progresses. I am finishing up a fence before I head out.
Did a ride today up Rock Creek Road / Forest Service 421. Nice elevation climb on a jeep trail that goes to an old Chromium mine and a wilderness area on top of the range. <a href="http://s826.photobucket.com/albums/zz186/sperrysteve/?action=view¤t=WestForkswitchbacks.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider-photobucket-images/images/s/sperrysteve_WestForkswitchbacks.jpg" border="0" alt="Rock Creek Rd - Red Lodge"></a>

Yes... you turned left and I did a right to the next road in my quest for a mountain top... The sound of your machine was music!
Did a ride today to take advantage of the beartiful weather today. Red Lodge to Belfrey then Robetson Draw Rd to FS 2008 then to a magnificent canyon hike at the end of the motor vehicle trail. I will attempt to load way too many pictures... <a href="http://s826.photobucket.com/albums/zz186/sperrysteve/?action=view¤t=14Foothillreturn.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider-photobucket-images/images/s/sperrysteve_14Foothillreturn.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s826.photobucket.com/albums/zz186/sperrysteve/?action=view¤t=16Foothillreturn.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider-photobucket-images/images/s/sperrysteve_16Foothillreturn.jpg" border="0" alt="Canyon Ride"></a> <a href="http://s826.photobucket.com/albums/zz186/sperrysteve/?action=view¤t=2Midwayabout20miles.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider-photobucket-images/images/s/sperrysteve_2Midwayabout20miles.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Yes... I discovered a way from Line Creek to Morrison Jeep trail via Clark today. I am enjoying the adventure of discovering the trails and roads here in Red Lodge. I attached a link to pictures from the "Line Creek" Ride yesterday and soon I will post some pictures of the Morrison Jeep trail. I have been guilty of riding without a map (makes for more of an adventure) and today I made it to Morrison Jeep trail via the foot hills (mostly dirt). What I have found so far is Meeteetse hits Robertson Draw Rd south of Belfry by say 10 miles and that is where I loose the Clark Direction of the trail and instead head back up a canyon to Line Creek after a foot hill section at Gold Creek that is circumnavigated up an over on Forest Road 2008. At the intersection to Line Creek I found a road that heads back to Clark and then a paved road that goes to the entrance of Clark Fork / Yellowstone river Canyon and the start of the Morrison Jeep trail. So Far the part of the Jeep trail that parallels the Yellowstone river is remarkably beautiful and the fishing amazing, while I was there I spent some time late afternoon fishing with a couple of "old timers" that grew up in the foot hills there and went to school at Powell Wy. Fishing was quite good for Rainbow and Cutthroat and I understand that there are White fish and some other Brook trout there as well.
You need to head up little sunlite in Wyoming. My friend George went up today to the end where there is an abandoned mine.He said when he got to the end of the trail there was a steaming pile of fresh griz poop!!! Pretty easy ride he said.
Next year! looks like some fun country... found some Wicked single track in Idaho... http://stevesperry.wordpress.com/2010/09/28/a-teton-evening/
