I've ridden Redington road from near Mammoth to Tucson over Redington Pass and into Tucson. It's a good GS road for me (I've got pretty lame dirt riding skills).

I was wondering: Has anyone ever ridden into Redington and then down along Pomerene Road to Benson to get to I-10? What's the road like?

I'm looking for a good DS road to get down towards SE Arizona from Phoenix without going throught Tucson.

:thumb :thumb :thumb Good travelin' road.

It's like Redington North of the turnoff - flat, hard, and mostly fast. Lots of ranches - you can encounter free-range cattle at any point, and it's washboardy enough in spots to either slow you down or make your hands go numb. Not the most interesting road, but a nice view of the mountains to the West that you don't really get from any other angle. Pavement starts about 15 miles North of the freeway, as you come into Pomerene.

I miss the snowcone stand that used to be just outside of Redington. :cry
