Remus Roxx Install on my 2011 Adventure

Exactly. I read about the seals not being needed at a review posted at KTMTwins.com so I had a bit of early info on them. I will post up an edit about the seals.

Hondo, The information on the Remus is appreciated as is your usual attention to detail. I have looked at this system also. As one orange and green rider to another, welcome to the LC8 fold. Have you contemplated intake modifications to compliment your new exhaust system? Tune ECU perhaps? I'm sure Orange Crush will benefit greatly from your contributions just as many KLR riders have.

I am planning on using Tune ECU in the future if for no other reason that to do my own 15 minute (5 min) ECu resets.

Not sure if I'll go with an aftermarket intake system like a Rotwieler- using a Uni & Filterskins in place of the snorkel now without any issues.

Good thread. I just got mine installed, and on first start up I thought they were going to be too loud. After riding it though, it's just right... I sure do like this bike!

Try Power-Tripp's TuneEcu map for "Wings, 2 into 1", you'll like it. Very smooth in the 3-5000 rpm range and still gets 42 mpg. It's included with the software.

Did your engine temps lower at all? I feel the stockers might be my issue for reaching the upper end of the spectrum of heat.

I haven't noticed any major changes in operating temp.

Just did this install yesterday, only have a short test ride in but love this set up so far, for any one thats curious I weighed all the parts and the weight savings total is 16 pounds, remus 7.5 pounds complete, stock 23.5 pounds complete. Plenty of saved weight to make up for storage box , extra fuel, whatever.

I put this pipe on my 11' R. Sounds great, almost like a big single till you open up the throttle. I added an high flow filter with the pipe and it helped with the throttle control and added bottom end power. Remus told me I didn't need a map just put it on and go. This is a great addition to the bike

I put my Remus Revolution Titanium (got it from CJ Designs along with his 2-into-1 collector) on my bike just around the same time as Hondo for the same reason... also got my CJ Designs Expedition Storage Box.

I went with the Revolution Titanium/ESP for the extra storage and weight loss (looks like a net loss of about 15lbs), but the great sound and performance is an added benefit. And no... didn't have to mess with the ECU map whatsoever. The bike idles just fine and I haven't noticed anything jarringly different in the power curve.

I have a TuneECU for my '08 990 Adv even without an exhaust. The TuneECU is mainly to smooth out the fueling (not a prob on newer than '08). So if you have a newer bike save the money.

I'm really thinking of this Remus Roxx 2:1. Also contemplating a Q4 or Arrow too. I have no plans for tool tube or aux fuel tank. I've owned Q4 (xr650l) and a Remus (vfr800) on previous bikes. Loved both. I've read the Q4 may lose bottom end? Wondering if TuneECU would fatten the bottom end?

Should be receiving my Remus roxx and tank from CJ in the next few days for my 07 990.Thanks Hondo for your detailed pic by pic instructions. You sure make it look easy. Do you have the stock fuel mapping? I have read some threads recommending 15 minute idle for reset. Did you do that? Thanks again for giving your time.

I used the stock mapping & did the 15 minute idle (though I read somewhere that this might not work unless hooked to Tune ECU or the KTM software) - it runs great.

Just pulled my stock exhaust in anticipation of my new Remus 2 into 1! I cant wait until it gets here! Thanks for the info!

Post up what you think when you get it running-

Did you remove the SAI system as I understand it is only necessary for the stockers with cats and even if disabled in tuneecu fails open ?

I believe the standard map can improve a lot, moreover fuel economy.

Other than that everything said about the Roxx is true, a bit more on the bottom, a bit less on the top, better response in bottom, saved weight. I like it (titanium)!
